Preseason doesn't mean a darn thing...useless at this point.

They have the Top 6 probably how I would rank them pre-season. After that's it's hard to guess. I'd probably have tOSU in my Top 10. Their offense last year was just terrible and it will be much improved this season. I like USCe but their schedule isn't very easy.

IT'S A TRAP

The fact that my team went wire to wire as the #1 team in the country in 2004, does not color the fact that I see an inherent flaw in preseason ranking.

Why USC would be ranked #1 in preseason, when the team was replacing the entire offensive line and starting sophomores and true freshmen at the skill positions is beyond me.

Leinart and Rt guard, Fred Matua, were the only returning starters in the entire offense, Matt's protector at RT was suspended for the year, and the coaches had to scramble and pull a tackle from the JC ranks before the season. RB and Lendale did not start in 2003, so they were first time starters, and with the loss of Mike Williams at WR, sophomore Steve Smith and a true freshman, DeWayne Jerrette were also first time starters at their position.

How you can replace and start that many players and still rank #1 is beyond logic.
