College Football's One-Hit Wonders

In this thread, we pay homage to the players who made one great play or had one great game, but that one event was incredibly significant and memorable. Just about every school has a guy like that, so let's tell their stories.

For Iowa, the biggest one-hit wonder is Warren Holloway. Despite starting every game as a senior in 2004, Holloway didn't have much production as a WR. For his career, he only had one touchdown catch, but it was a huge grab on the last play of the game to win the 2005 Capital One Bowl.

After leading a miraculous goal line stand against USC in which the wide open receiver dropped the ball, manti teo ran over to the ball, picked it up, and ran off the field holding the ball up!

Chris Rix vs the Gators in 03, Can never consider him the disappointment that many noles do because of that last play to PK Sam.

Probably a one-hit wonder to most people, but converted QB-to-WR Keith Nichol. Caught the tipped pass during the Rocket play to stub Bielema's toe.

this is a joke right? The biggest ref screw job in modern day sports, to the point where instant replay was implemented, was the only reason he was even in position to throw that pass.

This is the first thing that came to my mind. Can't really think of an Alabama player off the top of my head but TS still haunts my dreams. There was no excuse for AU to beat us that year but Fran was all packed and ready to get that game over and hop on a plane, oh well.
Another one the comes to mind is Talley the RB for Arky that ran all over AU that year. Maybe not a complete one hit wonder but he didn't really have that outstanding of a career outside of that one game.

No it was Tally. I think Fred was his first name. This was when Nutt was still at Arky and it was a year that they really shouldn't have beaten AU but tally went off for something like 250 if I remember correctly.

Ok, it was 241 yards rushing in 2002, but he was not a 1 hit wonder. After looking him up he rushed for 1119 yards his senior year.

Justin Vincent. Love the dude, went to high school with him, great person.. Actually had a decent Freshman season but was the MVP of the MNC game against Oklahoma.. He ran all over the Sooners in that game and is the reason we won the title in '03 (And the defense, of course)
He didn't do a damn thing after his Freshman year.

John Brantley lit up Furman for a few hundred yards and 4 TD's, outside of that he was the worst QB to play at Florida in awhile.
