I notice you posting negatively in seemingly every AU thread. You still upset that AU has BCS crystal and USC doesn't?

I actually agree with a lot of this... Kinda like that rich family that is rich because they have always been rich... guy that made his fortune thing.. makes so much since... the upper class isn't necessarily ranked higher or lower... its like saying Bill Gates is rich because he made his fortune vs the Waltons are rich because daddy gave them money... Walton family may have more money but they didn't get it by themselves but they also didn't lose all of their money.... ND may be going through a recession but they are def still a rich school... stock might crash soon though...

It's never as simple or crude as "Daddy gave them money". The wealth must be invested and spending monitored appropriately. A family may have built a fortune five generations ago, but if subsequent generations do not honor and respect what it took to build and maintain that wealth it will be lost.
The same is true with football. Wade and Frank Thomas built a dynasty at Alabama, but it took continued success to maintain that legacy. Over the years, just like wealthy families, there were coaches who added to the legacy like Coach Bryant, Stallings, and Saban, but there were also coaches who led it into a decline like Whitworth, Perkins, and DuBose.
If one inherits something of that magnitude and hopes to pass it along to future generations one must work to maintain and/or add to that which was bequeathed or it will eventually be lost.

Exactly. Alabama has been a national power when their conference was weak, and when it was strong. The name has been powerful throughout CFB history.
Their tradition had nothing to do with the conference they play in, but everything to do with who they are.

it's not hating, it's reality. auburn has enjoyed some success, but have some perspective.
bama and lsu have been significantly better than auburn over the past 10 years. florida has had a significantly better decade than auburn as well.
how can you call yourself elite on a national level when 3 teams in your conference, and 2 in your own division, totally outclass you?
