Colorado to legalize The Marijuana

  • TroyTide said...

And that states shouldn't try to usurp federal law. Enumerated or not, laws are laws, and either they are recognized or they aren't.

To be honest, I have not read up enough on the topic. So, I'm going to take a rain check and get back ITT.

I am in favor of states rights, including on this issue, but not this way. States shouldn't just do what they want and dare the Feds to stop them. There is a proper way of doing things. If states want states rights should should quit conceding them to Washington an get them back. But not violate the law.

Federally, weed is illegal, but the federal law concedes to the state law. This how the law is interpreted for this weed stuff. I am right on this!

haha America is beyond stupid, yes legalize tree why stop there legalize cocaine, hopefully young kids will be addicts by age 7. what a fvcking joke

Yeah. Just let them drink their booze and carry on the alcoholic gene. We need more drunks at age 7 imo.

  • This is so stupid. I would rather have a buddy drive me around after smoking an ounce of weed than if he had just taken 5 shots of vodka. If there is so much money to be made off of a "drug" that isn't as dangerous as alcohol, and I may even go as far to say Cigarettes, just MAKE IT LEGAL. The DEA will still have jobs to do. You know... Trying to cut down on the real drugs that are actually dangerous and harmful.

    it'll shake out fine

the federal government will have to back down to the will of the states.

they have been making all the money off of weed, (agents) and the prosecution of a non-crime...

they have the perfect chance to finally do something smart and leave it up to the states.

  • I have grown up around people who drink a lot and people who smoke a lot. The major difference, I have never, "NEVER" seen anyone who was high get into a fight. You see it all the time from drunks. I have no problem legalizing it nation wide. Would cut the prison population in half and the government would make a killing on taxes. Put five in a pack and sell it. Government can monitor the level of HTC(?) for different users. Peoople who are in favor of beer being legal but not pot are ignorant.

  • Not sure how I feel about this. Pot is a gateway drug and lots of times leads to other drug use.

Can you provide a link to a study on that? One that shows simply smoking marijuana leads to the usage of other drugs and NOT that buying marijuana from dealers who try to push other narcotics on to people does?

No I can't provide a study and that's one reason I said I'm not sure how I feel about this. I have seen it first hand with some people I know and have watched quite a few drug documentaries where users talked about getting started on pot then the other hardcore stuff. Whether it was due to pot addiction or the pot dealer really doesn't matter IMO

People abuse marijuana and drugs, we know that. But there are people that abuse all sorts of things. Alcohol, cigarettes, prescription drugs, food... hell, there are even people that abuse things that are supposed to be good; exercise, water... anything and everything can be overdone and I guarantee you has been and will continue to be abused. But just because one man turns into an alcoholic (and that's a terrible thing, I'm not downplaying that), do we need to make booze illegal for the thousands of people who partake and are not alcoholics?

The big question you have to ask yourself is: Is marijuana more likely to create (more) abusers than any other substance (good or bad)?

Pot is a gateway to eating snack foods and watching obscure movies.

Did those commercials with the cracked eggs really get to you? What a joke. ALCOHOL is the gateway drug. Nobody smokes a joint and says to themselves that could could really use some blow. You go to a party where everyone is getting drunk and someone brings a little blow and half of them are getting geeked.

It's hard to tell if these people are trolling, are just this stupid and naive. Most people will experience alcohol and tobacco before ever touching weed. The people that do blame weed for their heavy drug use do so to take the accountability away from themselves.

You ever thought that maybe it's the personality/beliefs of the people that start smoking weed are also the type of people to experiment with other drugs? Could have a lot to do with extraneous variables and not marijuana making them move on to other drugs.

The Gateway drug argument is another lame retarded excuse the government has come up with to make the population think marijuana should remain illegal.

If it is true, then caffeine is a gateway drug for alcohol. See how dumb that sounds....its the exact same thing as saying pot use leads to hard drug use.
