  • So what's the story with Community and the indefinite hiatus? That can't be a good thing for any show, and some shows never make it back from that.

    Its not a good sign. I keep watching on Hulu to send my message. If they cancel that show while "Whitney" is still on the air, I am boycotting NBC.

    It is coming back in March. I actually have a good feeling that it comes back for a fourth season. Especially with all of the accolades it has been receiving.

    I am going to send an angry letter if it happens. I wish shows like that would jump to cable (like Futurama did). I would love to see what they could do without network restrictions.

    Yeah this show would do great on Comedy Central.

    I am very hopeful it gets at least one more season but maybe I am being delusional.

    Yeah it doesn't get the ratings but all of NBC's new shows have struggled this year as well.

    Chuck was in a very similar situations and got 5 seasons. So hopefully Community gets another season.

    NBC never advertises Community either.

    I have a soft spot for Chuck. Glad it was allowed to go out on its own terms, their finale was fantastic.

    With that said, I think you can give Community a fourth season and let it end naturally with the group all graduating.

    Yeah I loved Chuck too. I think Community gets better ratings than Chuck so hopefully it can just get one more season. That is all I ask.

  • Does it make anyone sick that NBC has the best comedic programming of any of the networks by far, but still struggles to compete? The Office, Community, 30 Rock, Parks, and Up All Night are all hilarious. Fvcking CBS dominates with shows about obese people and a guy with a monkey brother.

    NBC sitcoms are smart. They lean heavily on understated humor and pop culuture references. The best parts of Community are the subtle, almost hidden jokes (Annie's boobs stealing the pen, Abed delivering a baby in the background, Jeff taking hidden shots at celebrities, ect.).

    Here's a plot of a standard CBS comedy:

    Character A: I have relationship issues, and I don't get laid.
    Character B: I do to, but I do get laid.
    Character C: Poop or sex joke/fart noise/cheesy pun.

    Or:

    Character A: I am not financially successful
    Character B: I am, but I hate my mother
    Character C: Poop or sex joke/fart noise/mom pun
