Yeah, screw giving them a "congrats".. How many teams go undefeated with their schedule? A school like NIU should NOT take the place of a school like TAMU or another team from a major BCS conference that actually played stiff competition. Game was a waste of time, this ain't College Basketball.

No, but I'm glad that they were here in this situation. I don't trust this FSU team to put up a good showing against a top 10 team. We looked like dogshit for 3 quarters anyways. A million yards of offense and not even a 2 possession lead. Scary.

Bowl gms tend to be like that, not scary at all imo.
OT: That Lynch guy made the gm hard to watch though. Him being 7th in the Heisman vote really puts this season in perspective. Of course, he was going up against FSU's defense, so that had a lot to do with it.

At least they played their game and put it all out there. FSU won but they were flat and boring to watch. Quite frankly, I find most big name teams in bowl games other than the title game play flat, boring, uninspired football. Alabama in 2008 included. At least teams like NIU, Utah, Boise State, et al come to play, win or lose. That attitude needs to spread.

That's how FSU has played all year long. Glad we were playing a MAC team, because you saw what a team w/ decent players like NC State can do. Hell, we damn near almost did it against Georgia Tech as well.

Well you're kind of helping my argument. These big schools just don't get fired up to play these small schools. Of course the small school will be super fired up but it sucks seeing a good team from a major conference play uninspired, boring football and still win. If they had another big BCS school team playing, it would've been a MUCH better game, IMO.

Those teams have to play like that. It's all they have. They lose, no biggie ... typical. If they win, the media sucks their slong longer then the team who actually won the title game.

Well, it was congrats to them for being the first MAC team in BCS game and what they did accomplish in the MAC.
I don't make the BCS rules, so it doesn't matter if they were deserving to be there or not, our inept BCS system picked them given the rules. For NIU, it was a great season.
