Without a clear opponent like Obama to vote against, could you get excited/vote for a Northeast moderate like Chris Christie in a stand-alone election (2016)?
I kind of like the guy. I think he would be a good President.

We need somebody with a personality. Going to be a tough election against Hillary. Not sold on Rubio either. He needs to be on ticket for demographic reasons, but I don't see him on the top of the ticket(at least not a winning ticket)

It's easy to be rational now... just wait until Santorum or some other goonbag runs again and the Repubs eat him up.
I think they still need 1 more election to realize there needs to be a change. Otherwise Christie would be a decent option.

Santorum would be awful. I am a liberal, but I would have been OK if Romney had won. I just didn't like him. But Santorum truly scares me.
If he ever gets the nomination I would consider quitting my job and campaigning full time for whoever the Dems run.

I like Christie a lot and he would be my first choice in 2016.
