Had no idea California was number 1 (size of the state maybe?), but thought the list was interesting. 4 states in the west, 5 on the east coast. I'll leave Texas alone, since they think they're a country onto themselves.
The craft beer movement continues to boom across the USA.

A list based on quantity instead of quality.
California deserve to be 1, but I haven't heard much about Texas, Wisconsin has a few kind of okay craft breweries, Vermont and Minnesota have some great beer quality-wise
California would still win with Oregon coming in second, and it's not even close. California has Russian River, Stone, North Coast, Bear Republic, Ale Smith, Lagunitas, etc.

List is crap.
California would probably be number one with Michigan and Colorado behind it. Oregon would be up there too but I can't think of one many great breweries in Washington.
This. The top three are definitely California (and they're definitely number 1), Michigan and Colorado.
List is total crap
Wisconsin should be 1 and I can't stand that state

I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
I can't believe you guys are putting Colorado in the top 3. Terribly overrated breweries. And lol, just lol @ Wisconsin and Michigan.
? Most of the beers I've had from Wisconsin have been average to bad and the only brewery I can even name off of the top of my head is Lakefront. What good breweries do they have?
You're just dumb,Wisconsin only knows cheese and beer
Michigan has 6 of the top 25 rated beers on BeerAdvocate, it at least deserves the 5th they put it at.
You are sheltered and I am too indulged in the spirits to answer but I think there is Spotted cow, isn't lienekugel from there?
Name some good Wisconsin beers. I think their cheese sucks too.
Surly is great for Wisconsin and if you laugh at Michigan craft you are the joke.
Sarah sorry about the Herpes.
Because of Miller Lite? You need to get out more.
Leinenkugels makes some of the worst beers I have ever tasted. I think they may have 1 or 2 decent ones but most of them taste like fruity pebbles or windex or crap. If you don't know anything about craft beer why are you making such bold statements?
Surly is from Minnesota.
That's not true, they "had" some good beers until they got bought out
So one brewery having some good beers=best craft beer state?
You're right on Michigan, it's up there. I was thinking Bell's and Founder's were in Illinois for some reason. Wisconsin in the top 3 is still very laughable though.
Wisconsin in the top 10 is laughable.
Guys its not about the best its about amount of craft breweries. Hell Ohio has some great ones but not on the list.
Yep. Laughing at Michigan craft brews is ridiculous. Founders is a top 3 brewery in the nation and Bells is fantastic as well, and that's not to mention the other great breweries in the state.
Also, when I hear someone say Colorado brews are overrated I instantly think they are only referring to Coors, new Belgium, and flying dog. Ft. Collins alone has better beer than the entire Southeast.
