OLB Taiwan Jones - 6'3 240, true JR. Beat out a SR 3 year starter and captain at WILL halfway through last year. Arguably the most athletic LB on the roster.
WR Aaron Burbridge - 6'1 190ish, true Soph. Didn't start until week 6 due to an injury in fall camp and missed all of summer conditioning his true FR year due to academic concerns, but recorded the only 100 yard game for a WR in MSU's class. Finished with 364 yards, 12.6 YPC and 2 TDs. It would not surprise me to see him more than double the yardage, increase the YPC by 2 or more and triple his TDs. He'll be the #1 WR from day 1.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Speedy receiver who missed all of last year with a knee injury ... Will be back at full strength for spring practice ... Was in position to be part of LSU's wide receiver rotation before suffering injury early in pre-season camp ... Deep threat with great hands ... Redshirted as a true freshman in 2012.
Displays tremendous athletic ability and the speed necessary to chase down quarterbacks … Good against the run or pass … Understands the position and has a great understanding of the John Chavis scheme … Played in 22 games with no starts during his two years at LSU … Goes into 2013 with 27 career tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks.
Is he the one they call 'motel 6?
If not , who was that...?
WR. Jamal Turner - state champion qb in Texas who is now comfortable at WR. Big year from him in the slot.
Nickelback - ya. I said it. Nickelback. Ciante Evans. Should have been all conference last year. Best nickelback I've seen over te last few years.
LB - Zaire Anderson - JUCO player that had to RS due to injury last year. Should have a big impact in what Pelini is trying to accomplish on D. Should be good against the run.
Teein' Off on Links
RS FR QB - Jameis Winston
RS FR RB - Mario Pender
Both never played a snap so are by definition unknown...only HS or Spring Game film is available.
JR S/LB aka STAR - Karlos Williams
SR OLB/JACK - Christian Jones
IIRC Karlos only started one game and so his only exposure has been limited as a backup (& ST).
Jones is a SR but has had a quiet career at LB, but the new D scheme that will be run in 2013 is designed for him to make full use of his freak athleticism (which he has always had) and really wreak havoc.
RB/WR Amir Carlisle kid transferred from USC last year and had to sit out year due to injury. CJ Prosise recruited as a S last year and has since moved to slot receiver and was the surprise of Spring Camp. On D I'd go with Elijah Shumate who played nickel as a true FR last year. He's now likely the starting SS. Jarrett Grace is going to be the new starter at ILB.
That was John Jenkins, the big Nose Tackle.
We're talking about Jordan Jenkins, the OLB. He picked up 5 sacks last year, as a true freshman, playing back up to Jarvis Jones.
What about this one
All good, IMHO.-
Pagan is a DE. He does slide inside for our four man front rush package, but he is a starter at DE.
I would replace OJ with Anthony Steen. We are on a recruiting board and OJ was the top TE and a five star; most on here know him. AS is a senior and was a 3 star out of HS... And was overshadowed by Fluker, Warmack and Jones. Now he is overshadowed by Cyko. AS is a player and a regular road grader at RG.

Jarron Jones, really? So he's starting to pan out? Good for him.

Not exactly, but he's a nightmare coming off the bus, 6'6 and over 300 with almost no fat on his frame. His weakness was coming in 'soft' bc of weak HS competition but according to our reports he's getting a mean streak...he should be a pleasant surprise in the 2 deep like Sheldon Day was last year.
Quinn is a great pick, as is Jones. Both are coming in under the radar and are great athletes. Like those picks.
