LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BP)--Evangelical Christianity and evolution are incompatible beliefs that cannot be held together logically within a distinctly Christian worldview, R. Albert Mohler Jr. says in the Aug. 15 edition of TIME magazine.
I'm not liberal.
I believe the earth is only 6,000 years old.
You atheist conspirator you.
Thank you for demonstrating that you know nothing about science or the scientific method.
you must not be a christian since Roll Tide has never heard of one that believed this.
Hah! Count down the year from Adam to Jesus in the Bible and that's what you come up with

Didn't feel like reading through 7 pages to see if this was posted already or not..but I feel it is relevant.
Troy Tide doesn't think any Christians believe this. Is he wrong?
Yes. In fact if he looked closely he may find that there in fact some on this board AND ITT who do in fact believe that.
Why So Serious?
"Although there are some people who profess to be atheists, the Bible indicates that there is no such thing. Everyone knows that God exists, even though some may verbally deny it (even to themselves)."
This one follows the following logic: the Bible says it, so it must be true! This is not the way to convince anyone who doesn't already believe the Bible.
"Just as the Bible has become a source book for history and archaeology, so it is also a source book for the foundational principles of science."
If any scientist ever cited the Bible as a source in any sort of scientific work, they'd be laughed out of the profession. No actual scientist uses the Bible as a source for "foundational principles."
"In contrast, creation cosmologies explain the data better by starting from biblically-based axioms: the cosmos has a unique center and a boundary for its matter, beyond which there is at least some empty space; and on a cosmic scale of distances, the earth is near the center."
Same faulty logic as the first one: the Bible implies that earth is at the center of the universe, so earth must be at the center of the universe!
Nuh-uh! I don't believe it. TroyTide is THE authority on Christianity!
Just like Christianity is the authority of religion, don't forget that.
All you seem to be able to respond with are attacks.
The Future Is Bright! Hotty Toddy
I don't really think it's a fair assumption on the part of the so-called 'liberals'.
Sure, we see the country , and world ( for that matter) in sort of an anything goes mode, but we are still free to choose, and free to exercise the faith or belief system we hold..
The unfortunate thing is that the freedom to express the 'Opposite of liberal ' is being squashed..
It 's one thing to allow people to express their opinion, but in the same breath,, if you do not like their opinion- remember- .. They may have witheld Their viewpoint when you were expressing yours ..
Listening and thinking objectively works both ways..
Narcisism (sp) has taken a front seat with the computer age we live in now.. Everyone is behind some sort of screen.. literally..
It's a listen to me society.., so let's listen, and devise our own opinion, w/o doing the 'my way or the highway' thing..
Wish this would climb into the political arena..
The word of the day..- tolerance
For all of the Bible haters- 'Judge not lest ye be judged'..! There is always an opposition..

That's ridiculous, how could anybody think that? The Pyramids are over 5,000 years old so these people think we just showed up and started building the damn Pyramids like three weeks out of Eden or something? That's absurd, I refuse to accept that a large number of people think this. The guy who said he did is just trolling.
Explain why the logic is faulty.
If I take a piece of paper and write "God doesn't exist" on it, does that mean that God doesn't exist?
Actually I've provided a lot of good arguments in this thread until it became clear that you are just trolling.
Dude, there are states that are trying to put intelligent design pushed into science classes.
And they should! If they teach evolution as a theory, they should teach the other theories
How do you feel more comfortable with something that doesn't change?
If my doctor didn't change what he did over the last 20 years, I would never go back, let alone over the last 2,000 years of what he practiced. Treating Ulcers is no different.
