Nothing you said is wrong, but the bright side about ND is that even if you suck you're still the coach at ND. The current winning doesn't seem to deter coaches from wanting the ND job.
The only downside to coaching at ND is lately it seems to be where coaches go to die. We'll see if BK can change it. Have first hand experience with him recruiting, and he is a douche lol. It would be great to see ND come back, would make it even worse on scUM and cHoke.
Would like to see all 3 get back, they always said ND's best recruiters were Hayes and Schembechler. If one side thought they were losing a recruit they would send them to ND just so they didn't play for their rival.
Yea, I wish I could say I had confidence in Hoke.. but I don't. Once Mattison is gone, he is done completely.
BK is a gambling man. He new he had TN or ND, both were make or break.. definitely made the right choice. Makes a solid first impression, dude is just a total asshole as soon as you spend any time around him.
Id love to see ND come back, f*ck michigan though. Take all their talent for all I care.
He seems to trust his staff a lot though, and from every report I've read these guys that recruit their respective regions crush it. As far as BK being an asshole, I completely agree, all he does is coach up QBs and call offensive plays. I've heard plenty of stories of BK blowing off alumni meetings and events like that but all the players seem to love him so I can't complain. He had last years team running through brick walls for him so that's all I can ask for.
another aspect to consider after his SR yr.. he is 6'2" 220~ lbs right now. runs a low 4.4~ 40 time. If he can solidify his footwork, which he is working around the clock on.. which will make him a complete package.. he will be a package for the NFL,
I can't comment TOO much on his coaching abilities. Had several teammates that played for him at UC when he took over that said he knew his ish.
Coaching UP qbs, no, not his thing. He is a good offensive mind though. He runs a system which QBs can accel in... but at the same time can plug and play QBs. Trust me he is not a QB coach.
ND is the perfect place for him. He recruited me and friends of mine... He is a difficult person to WANT to be around, but the ND lure helps in his favor more than you will ever know, now.

Pretty much exactly what I said a few times ITT.
Nice post though man.. You should post more often.. Need some more objective people around here.
Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.
He's a BEAST dude for real.. Love his game.
And that time is possible.. Remember, Patrick Peterson is 6'1'' 222 pounds and ran a 4.34 and a 4.37 electrically at the combine... So if he (Miller) can run a sub 4.4.. Then he is the Patrick Peterson of QB's, scary thought.

Jealous Michigan fan with the DV eh?
And yes, I'm one of those that complains about being DVed.
why are you so sensitive?
I think you might be getting owned here.
I consider LSU a better job than Alabama if all things are equal based on recruiting.
I most certainly will not crawl back under a rock (false keyboard bravado).
My opinion is based on attractiveness to a coach. A coach cares about $ and winning. In this decade, a coach can win and make a lot of $ at LSU. He shouldn't care about the past.
Can you win an NC at Michigan, Oklahoma, etc. RIGHT NOW? I don't think so. Not as long as this version of Bama exists.

LSU has to be a top 11 program before they are a top 10 program.
Our quarterback does front flips, suck it.
This isn't a terrible list. An argument can be made that these 8 jobs are better than LSU. Personally I'd probably put FSU and Miami above them just on geography alone. Again, the argument can be made so I'm not sure why BLF's list is as crazy as some of you are insinuating.
Oklahoma has a very small instate crop to pick from. Actualy ou is an adjunct farm program for Texas a&m. LSU is a top tem program. Michigan I think also qualifies as a top ten.
Edit: meant to quote Rolltide06's post that LSU was a better job than Alabama with all things being equal due to recruiting.
I don't think so. The best states in recruiting (IMO), grouped into tiers, are:
At Alabama, you can pretty much take your pick of the Alabama talent, plus Florida and Georgia are right there. You can dip into Lousiana and and Mississippi occasionally (but much harder than pulling kids out of Georgia or Florida).
Alabama may not be located in one of the first two tiers of states, but it's in that next group and its location provides great access to other states with tons of talent that can't be dominated by one team in this era of scholarship limitations. Combine that with more tradition than any other southern school, and a commitment to keep facilities at the top nationally, and you've got a better job than LSU, IMO.
Texas and USC are the two best jobs in the country because they can control an entire large region when they are powerful. Florida would be next but it's honestly debatable because Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, FSU, etc. can all have great success there. I think you could make an argument for Alabama to be 3rd after Texas and USC. I'm sure some will dismiss that as a homer post, but I think a good argument can be made.

you know i how i know youre gettnig trolled?
Hah.. Dude was serious as you could possibly be serious. I would consider this a troll thread though.
Anyways, BLF is cool.. Yesterday was very foggy for me. Wasn't expecting this to reach 6 pages.
Yoo Bama fans.. Seems like you guys are the "surprise" team in College Baseball (SEC) this season.
It seems like everyday that I check the scores, you guys are putting up big numbers in the hitting category and winning so games.
I thought you guys were going to be dreadful but now it looks like y'all will be a tough out.
yeah he may actually be serious thinking about it...
No hurt feelings bossman.. I was a little out of line yesterday..
Alabama has the upper hand vs USC...your university/fanbase/community is more dedicated to the sport of football. Football is not god in California..not all athletes wish to be football players, and the fact that California is number 1,2,3 in most NCAA NCs confirms this. Plus, our athletes are more apt to leave the state to attend college than the other way around, has happened for decades and decades.
FB is simply part of the greater tradition at USC, not defined by it. For that reason, I think any coaching job in the SEC, Texas would be preferable to a coaching position at USC.

"Here are provided seats of meditative joy, where shall rise again the destined reign of Troy." Virgil
Heard that.. I honestly wasn't expecting this to go 6 pages either.. Little ridiculous but glad you're a good sport about it all.
