The best players in the country played for teams in the north because southern teams wouldn't let blacks play for them, but you want to talk about bigotry?
MSU isn't trying to use wins against Ann Arbor Pioneer High School to claim "the most wins in college football history."
Jesus Christ, man. We are talking about the 20's, 30's, 40's. In all of the North, there were like 15 black players total during much of the decades listed above. Get off your, "the North was a wonderland for blacks" propaganda crap you've been fed by ignorant professors and teachers.
You are really uniformed, aren't you? Tell me how many black AA's there were in the 20's and 30's on Northern teams. Any Northern teams, not just he Big 10. I'll hang up and listen.

Probably because MSU couldn't beat them if they tried. And guess what. Michigan has the most wins in college football history.
This is Michigan, fergodsakes.
you're high as a freaking kite.
since 1947...big ten 30 rose bowl wins. pac 8,10,12. 30 rose bowl wins (in head to head rose bowls). from 1947 to 1960 the big ten was 12-1 against the pac 8,10,12.
The big ten is a has been conference. period. osu has a bs gift title which nobody respects due to a bogus call and um has a split title in 1997 and that is since 1970. Growing up in the 70's in the midwest i annually watched the big 10 get blistered in the rose bowl. they usually came in as the favorite, and left with egg on their face.
but hey big ten fan, you keep thinking you're special and relevant if it makes you feel good. The sec will continue to increase the gap between the two conferences.
Tell me how many black players there were in the south before the 1970s. Any black players, not just All-Americans. But sure... it's the northern sportswriters who were "bigots."
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
Are you retarded? Could you not determine, by using your eyeballs and reading the words on the screen, what time period was being discussed in this thread? Southern teams had All-Americans right and left by the 70's.
I feel like you aren't smart enough to be having this conversation with us. Please stop talking. We were talking about bigotry of Northern sportswriters in regards to Southern players in early decades of college football when the North was raking in All-Americans like candy.
You know, back when just about all teams, everywhere, were all Caucasians. But, wouldn't you know it, some clod has to come bumbling along talking about "no blacks, no blacks, no blacks" and it really made no sense at all relative to what we were talking about.
ever heard of grambling? eddie robinson? lots of traditional black schools in the south. the northern schools had their token 3-4 players. little different now. when Bama blistered nebraska in the 66 and 67 orange and sugar bowls..nebraska was 'integrated'...pull up a team photo. ya they were by definition integrated...barely.

Oh my god... you're such a BIGOT!
At least I know what the word "bigotry" actually means.
having lived half my life in dixie, the other half in ann arbor and cincinnati...just from my observations...the north has an incredible amount of racial violence and tension. I had the kkk in full white robes pass out literature in 1982 just outside of cincinnati. our high school experienced bussing and racial fights on a regular basis. In cincinnati, you have jewish country clubs, Protestant country clubs, and catholic country clubs. the south gets a bad rap. the north is full of a bunch of racist as is the mid west. never seen the white robes in dixie since 1984.
I'll be spending 4 hours tomorrow with people of 'different' color and won't think a damn thing of it.
