Let me guess, Howard > Darby ??
Golden is better then Jimbo... I feared it was true. He is going to hoist a crystal ball there - fsufsu
Waters is our 3rd best WR and Duke is the best RB of the big 3 and will not die.
LOL what ?
def give me duke out of the big 3 as my starting back
the bammer just wanted to do a little chest beating atop a mountain
Canes have lost an understanding of what constitutes a great RB. It's not just speed. Duke can run very fast, that's about all he's proven. And generally against the sisters of the poor.
Dorsett/Scott are definitely in a league of their own.... with Waters/Hurns/Lewis being next.
Also think Coley will be very good at Miami.. I was high on him when I thought he was a Nole.
Thread is true.
Others ran with it, IMO.
Hate Duke all you want but he's the best RB of the big 3.
Stacy Coley is a freak. He's your best talent the day he shows up. Will take a year to be your best player there. Haven't seen it with Scott and Dorsett lacks courage. I just loved Herb in recruiting and see him pouring it on.
You always try and make it emotional so you can detract from simple discussion. I'd kill three men to have Duke on FSU. That said, he's an OW not a RB at this stage. On this Big 3 Team I'd have him in the slot more than in the back field. Zoom sweeps, screens, etc. Dude's a stud, but he's not the best RUNNING BACK.
People who can him a speed back have no idea what they're talking about. He isn't even all that fast. He's super quick (there's a difference), shifty, great vision & has underrated power.
Not against a real defense. Check the stats of Duke against FSU. Then check Matt Jones stats against the same team. And Jones was the backup.
I think it's definitely coming but the skills Chris Thompson showed as a pure RB have not been seen out of Duke. Yet.
Dorsett isn't a punk. I think he has a bigger pair than Rashawn "gator arms" Scott IMO. He just had a case of the drops last year.. I think he'll be close to 1k yards this year. Scott has a nice all around game. I think he will be the best pro out of the bunch.. (Hankerson'ish)
So Jones > Duke by your logic ?
I agree.. but the way we used him didn't really compliment him being an all around back either. We had Mike James for a lot of the inside running. Duke is so much stronger/tougher than people give him credit. His vision/cut ability is Barry'ish. (forgive me.. I did say 'ish) My main concern is he's always had toe problems so staying healthy will always be worrisome.
Nothing against Jones but he isn't even in the conversation....
Like 92 who said you'd beat the 3 teams combined.. Pick a year. It wouldn't be close.
Jones, Wilder, and Johnson are all capable.
One doesn't really stand out to me
Jones doesn't belong on the same sentence as Wilder, Freeman and Duke.
I'd take the 6'2 230 pound kid over the 5'9 180 pound kid any day.
