Like I already stated, the AR is a glorified .22 rifle.
It has no more 'capacity to kill' than most other firearms.. It is banned based on looks more so than function. Not too mention "assault rifles" are rarely used in murders, why gun control advocates are harping on such a senseless idea is beyond me.

And when some dumbass forum troll from Alabama who doesn't know the difference between 'there' and 'their' becomes the Secretary of Defense I'll shake your hand and join your militia. I also don't see the connection between the U.S. Government confiscating weapons and being taken over by China but I'll leave you to connect the dots.
Because most people don't know shit about guns.
To compare the .223 to a .22 long rifle (even through omission) is extremely disingenuous.
A sensible "assault weapons" (the term has little meaning) ban would limit high capacity magazines. To say that a AR-15 has no more capacity to kill than, say, a .223 bolt action rifle, is just nuts.
What is high capacity?
So you went and resorted to becoming the grammar police on a drunk man on his day off? Hateful Rabbit, very hateful.
I said, MOST firearms, not all.
.22LR and .223 emit the EXACT SAME projectile, the .223 just does so at a higher velocity. Not sure what is so "disingenuous" about that..
Also, in terms of high capacity mags, see VT.. The most deadly shooting in US history was made possible because the shooter carried over 15 mags in a backpack. Not because of high capacity mags, reloading doesn't take much time, pointless "feel good" idea.
You can pretend all you want that this will solve something, in the end, it solves absolutely nothing.
I've heard a lot of people coming out against AR's since the NewTown shooting but nobody has ever answered this one for me. What exactly would have been the difference if the guy walked into that school room and locked the door behind him with a pistol. It was 26 (I think because his mom wasn't there right?) unarmed people including 20 children. What would have been the difference if the dude had a couple of pistols? How about a machete and a thirst for blood?
All this gun control against AR's would have changed absolutely nothing that happened in CT.
He did have two pistols, lol. SIG and Glock. I still haven't seen a confirmed report that he even used the AR.
ARs are used in 2% of violent crime.. this sudden out lash toward them is nothing more than uninformed people being brainwashed by liberal media outlets.
Our amendmenants need to be changed a change needs to happen like Obama promised.
The second amendment was created for the people to be able to protect themselves from the gov't. Obama, will NEVER succeed in disarming this country. Try again.
You, sir, need to study ballistics.
It has become painfully obvious to me that you read a lot in lieu of actually having used the weapon you are claiming knowledge of.
Fact - The .223 is a shouldered center fire round. The .22 is a rimfire round. The projectile of the .223 is heavier and therefore impacts the target with more energy. Therein lies the only major difference. The funny thing, as it relates to this ignorant conversation, is that It was not designed to kill. It was designed to wound. Wounding an armed combatant is much better than killing him.....for obvious reasons.
If you are going to argue a point then at least learn what you are arguing about.
I would rather be shot with the .223 than the .22 magnum. There is a reason.......when you figure out what it is you will be worthy of debating this issue with someone other than a novice.
May be the most un-american thing I have ever heard.
I generally like the way china runs things. (G)

so move there.
Will u come with me
No sir, I would be embarrassed to even say I know you.
Lol come on no u wouldn't. Last week you said I was ur best friend on here.
I have it on good authority that the ChiComs love them some Gumps.
Their leader is short too........jus sayin.
What exactly is your point? I'm the one saying that a .223 and a .22 are different, as you go on espousing the differences. The OTHER guy is the one saying a .223 is just a fancy .22LR. The .223 has twice the muzzle velocity and is vastly more powerful. That's my point.
My statement that an AR-15 is more dangerous than a bolt action rifle of the same caliber should be a fairly obvious point. With one gun you can easily fire 30 rounds out of a single magazine, the other, not so much.
I also know what a freaking magnum round is. I'm not the idiot you think I am.
Since we have some rifle experts around here I actually have a question. I got a .306 caliber Remington model 770 bolt action centerfire rifle with a scope, 22" barrel and 4 shot mag box just yesterday for Christmas from my father. I like to hunt but I've never been huge into getting into the specifics of my hunting rifles. I basically just center the scope and take it out to the woods during season.
How powerful and what kind of quality rifle is this that my father bought me. Thanks in advance to anyone that helps me out with this knowledge. Never been a rifle aficionado but it sounds like some guys in here are.

My point is simple.............the other guy is right. It is not vastly more powerful....it has more energy. Sorry, Rab, but these things matter.
Please, spare me the high capacity magazine bullsheit. I can shuck a clip and load another in less than 3 seconds. Magazine size has no place in debating the effectiveness of a weapon. There are just as many drawbacks as positives when using the high capacity mag
I'm certain you're not an idiot. That's why I'm surprised by the idiotic position you've taken in this debate. To be honest I wouldn't own an AR but I don't need you, Obama or anyone else telling me what kind of weapon I can have.....especially when it based on bullsheit logic. Get off my cloud, man.
Thank you and enjoy your life........you got about 4 hours left.
Poor man's version of the Model 700. The 700 was the model for the Army's M-24 and the USMC's M-40 sniper weapons.
As for caliber, I prefer .308..........but that's just me being me. Unless your using slope dope to kill those Alabama whitetails, the .06 is fine.

It would be interesting to see data on motiveless public kills a year divided by the population. Are people getting crazier, or does more people just mean more crazy people?
