I am not going to say they are wrong, because I have no way of knowing, but it is hard to imagine that every single day 276,243 sharks are killed around the world.
I could believe that 276 thou are killed every year but not day, but it also sounds fishy at the same time
100 million a year ? that would be some serious effort

fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Sounds like a job for
That's what I am thinking.
no way that many

I mean how many sharks could possibly be in the sea ? we got any data on that ?
Maybe its true, there could be an epic number of sharks in the sea considering all species... but again, 100 million does sound like a crazy number
But if there is that many swimming around, it wouldn't shock me at all to know humans kill the shit out of them in record numbers on a daily basis... its what humans do, we kill shit all the time.... every second of every day probably
I also call BS on the part of the article that says Shark's Fin Soup is a delicacy on par with caviar or truffles. I was in China and Cambodia at various points in the mid-late 90s, and I had Shark's Fin Soup and it was far from a delicacy - it was commonly available for low prices.
Yeah there was that too. If that many sharks are dying seems like you could buy it anywhere.

I have been a National Geographic subscriber for years. But they are really starting to make a habit out of this kind of thing. Conservation has always been apart of their mission but increasingly it's becoming the main focus. I am not going to keep paying if we are turning all Greenpeace here. lol.
I wish 100 million mosquitoes were killed every day.
We all know that the only thing National Geographic is good for anymore is for preteen boys who can't get their hands on actual porn to get their first glimpse at naked African tribeswomen boobs.
Anything else is just irrelevant.
If there are really that many being killed, then i'm not sure I want to know how many there are in the sea. Also, I may never set foot in the ocean again.

That's why I began my subscription. But it's been a few issues since I got my fix. The Society has really gone downhill.
They really need to re-focus on their target demographic.
All this killing and religion isn't involved.......?
BLF......I'm on the record right now that I'm a Christian and a staunch opponent of Shark Jihad.
That Shark-ist right there. You should be ashamed of yourself.
EDIT: Whoops, read "opponent" as "proponent." My bad.

I'm a friend of the sharks.
Didn't read the article but I know lots of black tips are eaten daily. Although I don't eat them, I know lots of people that do. With the fishing limits in Florida if people are out trout fishing and catch one or two(the limit) they keep them. Does the article include fresh water as well?
What year are you living in?
If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
It doesn't say, but I would assume so.
BTW that 100,000 million is like only 6-7% of sharks being killed a year...according to the article. What is that like 1.3 billion or so sharks they are saying exist? Math may be wrong, lol.
I gave up on going into the ocean years ago, fuk the whole fukking thing
The ocean can eat my ass
ITT people don't know how many losers live in China.
Any tips on how to survive a shark attack Lifeguard of 16?
