Who was the QB at Toledo/Tulsa (can't remember) when Gus was there? Because I'm pretty sure it was Mitch Mustain at Arkansas and then obviously Cam at AU for one year.
I actually think he will do better than some of my fellow Bama fans think. But I also think you guys are building up expectations that might not be able to be achieved. I would temper my expectations and go into this season as a rebuilding year and nothing more. I would move forward and say Johnson is our future and the guy who is going to build our next SECC run. Shooting too early gives off an ora that your guys have missed and are behind in their rebuilding job. One that will show down the road next year to recruits. It's a gamble. But of course, that's JMO
G.J. Kinne or something like that? Not sure why that name came to my mind...

Cpt, I respect you, you know that. Now show me a little respect in that I am fully aware he is not the best QB in history of the state of Georgia. He's not even the best Georgia QB to play for AU. We can get into INT stats too, if ya like.
imo Watson doesnt flip if it doesnt happen before the season gets underway.
Coker is an option if you're looking for a backup type & he's eligible to play right away.
Harris is a viable possibility if Bama opts to ink just one QB(which is likely) & he feels spurned.
Kendrick Doss & Malik Rosier seem to be much more likely candidates.
I'd love to know why bammers think they have a shot at Harris. Not every lie Saban throws out there is believed.
"So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."... Rev. 3:16
Well, what are my expectations of him?
Malzhan, Horton, and Lashlee are all well respected people in that area. He doesn't have a commitable offer, but if we went balls to the wall on this kid, I doubt he would stay with Tulsa.
Well, you were the guy throwing around the one and done thing. If you are asking me what mine would be, and you aren't, but anyway, they would be a bowl game and maybe 8 wins. That would be a great season IMO. But it will take a lot more than a scrambling QB.
I know about everything you just posted. I never said he wouldn't decommit from Tulsa... I was honestly wondering if you were talking about Jabe Burgess from Arkansas. It looks like you are.
While I'm not as high on him as you are, I would love seeing Gus get him, Rozier, or anyone else for that matter for depth purposes. Entering this season with one that won't work, one that may be serviceable, one that is a true freshman, and one that could either be the next great thing or a slot receiver is a little scary to me.
Nick Marshall has thrown more TD's than anyone ever in that state.
Cam is the best QB to ever play at AU and he is from GA.
Nick was a better HS QB than Cam.
The INT's don't mean shit to me. His team had no defense and no offensive line. Nick was forced to throw the ball up for grabs late in games.
Also, Ryan Applin went from 16 int's to 4 in one summer with Malzhan and Lashlee. These two are very capable QB coaches and the offense is super easy to learn.
the level of fail you bring on the daily is pure gold. Harris will be going to a&M most likely, if not I must say the last place I see him signing unless he just so happens to be the dumbest kid on earth is Alabama, and that's no flame. Do you guys just believe everything they tell y'all on BOL?
Why So Serious?
... I wasn't throwing anything around. I look at Marshall for exactly what he is. He's a pretty dang good athlete that will be trying out for QB. Where it goes from there, we'll see.
Burgess. I watched his film and just thought of what Chris Todd did with a bum shoulder in 2009 under Malzhan... Plus that kid doesn't run a 5.8 40 yd.
Why aren't y'all going hard after him?
Bama has a very good shot at Harris if they take 2 QB's (which i dont see).
i would say it's more ...Harris doesnt have a shot at Bama.
Do you know how many Hoover QB's have those kind of stats for the state of Alabama? Lots. I can assure you, they were not the states best. The very first day of stats class in college they tell you something......do you remember what it is? Because it's spot on. He may end up the next Cam Newton, but it's not because of his stats.
Then I agree. I approve of you being a tBB representative of Auburn. lol
We have this guy:
Harris is more likely to go to A&M or LSU than either Auburn or Bama, but more likely to go to Auburn than Bama. Saban did tell him that he would change Bama's offense to suit him. We've heard that line before. If Saban gets him it will be a second option and a "keep him from the other guys" move.
when i want your opinion i'll give it to you.
I took stats in HS. It was an advanced course and my teacher never told us shit.
Honestly, if you just look at his skill set, you should be able to see a VERY dangerous asset in the Malzhan offense.
Thank you for your kind remark.
+1 to that...
which is exactly why i said Harris has no shot at Bama if the Tide takes only one QB.
