putting into our workouts?
Green jersey- team leader, championship effort, people should strive to play like you.
Blue jersey- average effort, could easily be a leader in the weight room and in field drills, could be a green uni if you push harder.
Orange Jersey- poor effort, if you don't get your ass in gear, you won't play.
I love this. We used to do it in HS and it adds a lot of competitiveness and fire to off season workouts. It shows Malzhan isn't screwing around with the "culture change." I also believe it builds pride in yourself and a feeling that if you lose your blue/green for an orange, you better pick it up or bye bye playing time. The team also realizes who it can count on in the season.
What are your feelings on this policy? Sorry if this is pointless, I just thought it was kinda interesting.

Golden does it
What it means is you have a shit team that needs extra forms of motivation

fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
I already knew we sucked ass... thanks for your input
That is what it means, its not a dumb method
But its a way to force motivation and its a method that has been used at all levels for decades
doesn't the military do it too?
Yeah it's not dumb IMO, just gimmicky & very high schoolish. Basically what I'm saying is it is precisely like his offense...

Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
telling myself it's not as hard as it seems - Led Zeppelin
Ground breaking stuff. Malzahn truly is the innovator of our generation.
It means no one on your team knows what its like to play like a champion so the staff has to spoon feed them. If you have to have a shirt color on to show you're the standard you are probably not the standard. Imagine college Tebow, showing up an hour early, leaving late and working like a mule while he's there. You think he needed a green jersey?
Not enough colors IMO. It could very well cause a rift between guys if they feel they are not getting treated fairly. If I'm busting my ass on a daily basis and you give me some mid-grade color then I am going to get discouraged and dog you and your system to my teammates. I would knock the other guys off their teachers pet pedestal. But on the other hand, if they hand out the best color to almost everyone, it doesn't mean anything. It's like everyone is the same regardless of work. More colors give you something you want to achieve to without feeling like you are getting left out. You need to reward the guys with the top colors too. Give them a tshirt or something to wear around campus and a patch on their uniforms. Give it a cool logo and try to create a type of fraternity around it. Make it so when guys come back after graduating they want to meet with the other "gold" members or whatever. Make it something worthy of all the effort.
"Because Bama now sucks just like FSU used to suck when we were getting dominated by OU. Does it make sense now?"- Sliger (FSU Fan)
sounds really gay
I guess it's better that those skin tight panties that you guys wore last year. Besides making the whole team dress like Cam Newton on Halloween, there is really nowhere to go but up.
as long as there arent any lavender shirts you are in the clear.
Exact same thing Butch is doing at Tennessee. Orange for championship level, white for average, blue for poor effort... Auburn, Miami, and Tennessee coaches must have gone to the same seminar.
Butch Jones. Who???
Yeah it was the " how to climb out of the toilet " seminar
Those are three programs devoid of winners still on the roster.
Auburn fans have been dieing to break out the Orange jerseys in a game. Just show up at a workout and you guys get your wish
My thoughts are I hope Malzahn has plenty of orange jerseys to hand out.
That's what you do when the money runs out....
Steve Spurrier is a God, and Mark Richt worships him
why does he use your school colors for average and poor? And then green for great? at least he isn't using crimson I guess.
Wait, so the color that represents the highest level of achievement isn't one of Auburn's official colors?
Don't know anyone that would use the read option as their primary play. Those coaches will never be successful on any level other than HS.
shoulda gone with the short shorts, imo.
the more effort you give, the longer shorts you get.
oh get ready, the short shorts are coming,
I guess I should have phrased it better.
Malzhan didn't come up with it (obviously), but bu\ased on the obvious state of the program do you think it will be productive to climbing out of the poop... Auburn does that pretty well, btw.
