au folks remember Chris Todd fondly for some reason. He was terrible.
^this. Didn't you see all the playing time the backups got when Cam was there. Trotter and Mosely were studs by the time it was their time to shine...
That he was... until Gus came along... Then he was serviceable... Much like Bama QBs in the NFL

Dive for the thrill, shoot for the kill.
After last year Todd and 8-5 doesn't seem so bad.
If Nick Marshall isn't a stud, AU will be in trouble in 2014. Johnson is a good player with a ton of upside, but he won't be ready by then. If he has to start because Marshall is a bust then it will be really bad.
To me, if I' an AU fan, I want to see four things this season: Nick Marshall showing he can at least be an average QB, AU getting to a bowl game, signing a top 10 class, and showing development throughout the season while keeping players clean off the field. A lot of fans will make a big deal as to the difference between 7, 8, or 9 wins. But to me, it really isn't that big of a deal. If they accomplish those 4 things, I think they can build on the future in 2014 and make it back to a bowl game.
AU fans at some point have to ask themselves what they want out of their football program. Do they want a coach and team that CAN win 10 games twice in 5 years. Or do they want a team that competes with the Bama's, LSU's, UF's, UGA's, and even A&M's. I think the way they handle Gus' "success" will be very telling. He's an 8-10 win kind of coach to me. Some are OK with that, some aren't. Which side of the fan base wins out?
I think Bielema will be more successful at Arkie than Gus is at auburn.
Meh... Doubt it
What part do you disagree with?
Not sure. That's a pretty fair post.
3 years from now when they're both out of work, Bielema will have had a better record than Gus.
Write it down in pen. You heard it here first
your too blind by the C&W glasses to see... so it's not even worth my time honestly
How can you laugh at the unknown?
So he's blind that he thinks Gus is an 8-10 win type coach but Auburn fans aren't blind because they think he is
A championship coach?

Laugh all you want. You're costing yourself money by not finding somewhere to bet on this nugget of wisdom.
I dont see any reason why the recruit this year couldn't be ready next. It would have to be a redacted playbook but those type offenses are kind of for dummies anyways. Quick to learn.
I base it on one thing only. Gus success will be determined by his QB. No good QB, no success.
Beilema can win with less talent because of the system
I have more faith in Bielemas system than I do in Gus finding the next Cam. Way more in fact
Experience. While I'm sure throughout time there have been more, Tim Tebow and Johnny Manzell are the only two 2nd year QB's that were very successful. And they both had a ton of support from other great players on the team. AU will not have that type of supporting class.
Well no he wont be at his best but he could start next year and throw to a lot of open guys. He will struggle against a team like Bama. Of course. I said 10-3
10 games might be possible with a bowl win. But they will need to sign a few playmakers in this class. They don't have a big play threat on offense, and their defense is just bad. I'm not saying the defense won't get better with all the JUCO guys coming in, but it's a risk. They will have to play Bama, LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, UGA, and @ Kansas State. That's also not knowing who their other SEC East swing game will be (UF, USCe, UT, Vandy, UK). It's not mentioning how good Mississippi State and Arkansas will be either or who they play in their bowl game. 10 games is asking a lot in his 2nd year IMO.
