I found this in an article today. The article had an aweful aweful premise suggesting that the big ten simply spent more this year strictly based on the presence of coach Urbz.
Pretty weak premise if you ask me but anyway...
These numbers are for some who were questioning Nebraska's will to recruit. I think people need to understand the difficulties of recruiting to Nebraska an appreciate what the program has been able to accomplish despite the disadvantages they face.
So look at the chart and discuss.
Teein' Off on Links
Why did Nebraska spend 275k more on recruiting from 2012 from 2011 and still biting the dust?
Look at one point you are just going to have to figure out that Pelini is a fvcking nutcase and not able to do the job anymore. You will always be around the 15-25 ranking but won't pass that with him.
Nebraska has tradition, facilities and a loyal fanbase. It's different now, I agree, but Tom Osbourne managed to get it done. The college game is strictly about the HC nowadays. You get the right HC, and I swear that Nebraska will be right back.

There are many that agree. I'd say its approaching a 50 - 50 split.
If he fails it will be recruiting and stubbornness to blame. If we had half the offense we have now, we could have competed for a Natty on '09, when Bo was coaching Callahans recruits.
Pelinis recruiting his first 3 years has truly set the program back. If he can continue to improve the recruiting as he has the last two years, he will succeed and be N for a long time. He's got 2 or three years before anyone would consider firing him, IMO.
I like Pelini and ill defend him as a man. I think he is loved by his players and he is a good guy in the community. Bi started off rough with the media, but has gotten better, and I think it's cheap that he gets looked down upon for yelling at refs. Every coach in America does that nowadays and he gets ripped because of his facial features are so predominant.

Anyone have any other conference breakdowns? It'd be fun to see.
I'd like to see a conference by conference average of spending. Then again, I could see Saban going from home visit to home visit in a pinto and not caring at all. Meanwhile, Kiffin is probably landing on school tops in a chopper, taking the kids for a flight, and then dropping them with no parachute right before they land.
Showing recruiting expenses without including HC & Asst Coach salaries is a worthless comparison..
Its like comparing new car maintenance costs without including the purchase price.
Your brain must not be thinking
I do know our staff rolls PJ, but I don't think we'll ever release how much is spent.
