I eliminated all game against FCS opponents in these calculations. The listed number is the variance of what Bama/UGA did and what their opponents averaged giving up on the season. In perenthesis is what Bama/UGA actually averaged as well.
Bama +11.9 (38.1)
UGA +11.0 (37.4)
Bama +52.81 (206.36)
UGA +42.74 (196.45)
Bama +5.25 (224.2)
UGA +43.89 (266.3)
Bama +58.06 (430.56)
UGA +86.63 (462.75)
Bama -19.0 (10.1)
UGA -8.8 (18.0)
Bama -83.49 (77.64)
UGA -19.21 (150.82)
Bama -78.45 (162.5)
UGA -18.33 (188.8)
Bama -161.94 (240.14)
UGA -37.54 (339.62)
Yardage differential (total O - total D)
Would be nice to see Yards per play on O and D, since it is much more important than yards per game
10 Major Poll National Titles (CFB record)
35 Bowl Wins (CFB record)
72 Wins over last 6 years (CFB record)
Well, I am not doing all the variances for that again, but UGA averages 7.04 to Bama's 6.90 per play on offense and UGA gives up 4.97 per play compared to Bama's 3.90 per play.
3.9 is extremely good. not as good as last season (3.32 yards per play; a theoretical 3 and out every possession, which has only been done 1 other time in at least the last 15 years...1998 miss st.)
good statistics - thanks for the breakdown.
In games played in November, UGA leads the nation in points allowed.

There is also this. But hey, this is a big game and Murray usually plays poorly in those........
Really, ole miss, AU, gs and GT.
Georgia Tech averaged 36.3 ppg. Against UGA - 10
Ole Miss averaged 30.9 ppg. Against UGA - 10
Georgia southern averaged 35.5 ppg - Against UGA - 14
Auburn averaged 18.7 ppg. Against UGA - 0
It is what it is.
Going to.be a good game. Our D stats suck, we played bad on D until.the UF game
Steve Spurrier is a God, and Mark Richt worships him
Well I was expecting a tough game from both sides, but after your breakdown I hope Bama can cross mid field
Your FBS opponents in November also combined for a 15-21 record and one of them got the benefit of playing the ACC all season.
I suppose you're right.
As with anything, time tells all tales.
I look forward to the game.
I reckon so........
I'll stop making an attempt to have an intelligent discussion with Tahd fans. I should have known better.
Tell me, Boz, does the "A" on the Bama helmet really stand for Arrogant?
Def no arrogance here, I bye no chance think UGA is a walk over. I think GA is very talented and Bama has to play very well. Don't get upset when I disputed your November D
Numbers. Not sure where your great conversation was coming from? You listed some lame facts. But I see you have started the personal shots which I feel is never needed. If you want to have a real converse back and forth go ahead
You did not dispute them because they are indisputable. You did, however, question their validity due to the level of competition.
My point in posting the numbers was to point out that while Georgia started off slow, they have gotten better each week and appear to be peaking at the right time.
I did not, in any way, infer that Georgia was going to beat Alabama.
I am perfectly capable of having an intelligent discussion. That was my intent by posting in BO's numbers thread.
Have a nice day. I'm out.
