Damn near everything imaginable is inherently dangerous if used improperly. Once again, NONE of your arguments hold any weight.
Cars are dangerous if driven recklessly.
Tylenol is dangerous if you take too many.
Baseball bats are dangerous if you hit a living object.
Microwaves are dangerous if you put the wrong things in them.
Viagra is dangerous if your erection lasts longer than 4 hours.
If bats were the weapon of choice in 70% of homicides in the US, then we could have that argument.
I call that the "Drunk Sweet Spot."
Except guns are inherently dangerous whether you use them improperly or not. Pay attention to sentence structure, as I used a comma, then used the phrase "even more so."
You guys still haven't answered my question. "What practical use handguns, semi-autos and extended clips have that shotguns and rifles could not do?"
Anything? Anything at all?
I've already answered your idiotic question in another thread.
I cannot carry a shotgun and bolt action rifle concealed for self defense.
So you also want semi auto handguns banned? It'll NEVER happen.
Yes, I do. Because you don't need a hand gun for protection. What percentage of people go walking around in public with a gun? They don't need it for protection, so why should you?
Here's another question. Why does it have to be concealed? Wouldn't you want a perpetrator to know you have a gun so he stays away? I know its the law, so it was more of a rhetorical question, but why not have some of identifier, like an article of clothing, that indicates you are carrying? If the NRA came up with a universal "uniform" then you probably would have a greater effect as people would act differently around those who are carrying. Everyone acts differently around police officers and I would expect if you are wearing something that identifies you as an individual with a gun, then I'd expect you'd see less crimes in areas you are, negating the need to even use the gun.
Not to mention all the semi-auto hunting rifles, Browning BAR, Remington 7400, etc.
No I wouldn't want someone to know I am carrying. I want potential armed robbers reluctant to rob someone because they don't know if they are armed or not.
That's why I should be allowed to carry my pistol in a holster on my side, if I so choose.
go f-ck yourself. This ultra liberal crap coming from someone whos fanbase defends pedofiles.
Crime is much lower in areas with high percentages of CCL. It ain't going anywhere. You MAY get an assault weapons ban reintroduced if you are lucky, but you will never get the right to carry concealed taken away. Drop that pipedream.
Actually there are no conclusions that CCL works/doesn't work. It won't go away because it's a states issue, unless you have someone with a CCL kill innocent bystanders and it becomes a national topic.
So wait... how many guns do I own? Take a guess.
How? Explain how me having a firearm is dangerous?
They are no more inherently dangerous than an automobile. I could run someone over just as easily as I could shoot someone.
My children could take my keys and go for a joy ride running people over or killing themselves JUST as easily as they could shoot someone or themselves.
Your argument is completely weightless to anyone not paranoid and uneducated about firearms.
If you own ANY, I suggest you take training courses on firearms as you are very under-educated on firearms in their entirety as proven by your ignorant remarks in this thread.
Because one is a weapon and the other isn't. A car can be used as a weapon, but it's sole purpose is for transportation. A gun is not used for an other purpose. If you want to use it for protection, hunting, etc. All of those functions define what a weapon can be used for. It's different than a knife or a baseball bat too because those serve another purpose. A knife is used to cut something in every day use and a baseball bat is used to hit a baseball. Both can be used as a weapon, but that is not their intended use.
Target and competition shooting is a sport, hunting is also a sport.
How many times are you going to fail at trying to make the same invalid point become valid.
Owning a firearm is NOT dangerous if done so responsibly. The same can be said for multitudes of things, yew awh slow.
I did back when I was a teenager. Thanks for the concern.
Unfortunately there are many, many people who cannot handle it. That's the issue. I would rather no have access to something than have it be used for mass murder.
I'm glad some of you carry guns. It keeps people like me from kicking your coward ass when you bump into me. You better shoot me though if you pull a gun on me. If not......
When I walk up behind you and put my gun to the back of your head and tell you to give me your wallet.....then what? You going to spin around all matirx style and shoot me? Or, are you going to cry about your loved ones and hand me the wallet? Yep. There's nothing you can do about it unless the guy is a total idiot. You are not going to prevent him from robbing you. What you will do is increase your chances of shooting someone you do not intend to like yourself. Ask Zimmerman how it worked out for him when some guy attacked him and he used his gun. He's going to jail.
