Band of Brothers. Was hooked from the start on that, never could really get into The Pacific.
"If you're worried about Wolverine fans, just move to Pasadena. You'll never have to deal with 'em."
BOB was epic!
on the POW note, there are few places I'd rather not be than a jap POW camp.
My father was part of the liberating forces...and he hated the German's until he pased away, and he never fought in the war, per se.
I can only imagine the horrific scene in those camps...daddy was young and very family oriented - a wonderful and loving father, and even better grandfather. He never talked about it to the women of the family, but my brother and cousins told us that my father said that men cried when they walked into that nightmare scene, appalled by the cruelty.
Killing women and children moves up the horror of it for most of our soldiers, and the manner in which the murders were carried out.
Band of Brothers was excellent, I own it.

"Here are provided seats of meditative joy, where shall rise again the destined reign of Troy." Virgil
absolutely loved Band of Brothers enough so that i went out and bought th entire series
Me too. It is the only DVD set that I actually want to keep. I don't give an ish about my other DVD's.
BoB was better though.
Watched them both and thought they both were great shows...I have to lean towards The Pacific because when I read the credits I realized I had known one of the main characters for most of my life. Sledge Hammer was actually Doctor Eugene Sledge the Dean of the Science Department at the University of Montevallo which is in the the town where I grew up.
I recommend you read his book With the Old Breed, part of the series is based on that, it was really good
Pacific was amazing but Band of Brothers is just too good to not get the vote.
"I was brought in here to change the culture. I'm going to coach with passion" - Fran McCaffery.
I lent my BOB series to a friend. This thread made me go to her house and get it back.
about like me as well - have watched this one a couple of times , great set for sure
i agree totally as i really liked the interviews with the vets and how they would get all emotional remembering the past ; actually cant imagine how horrible it must have been
