I know the staff is going to come out with this but it's all in good fun to get some debate going..before it becomes a tOSU vs. UM battle haha but anyway...I think coach Urbs brought in the best DB class this year with LSU second then Fla I think..what say you? My top 3: 1.tOSU 2.LSU 3.Florida

When everyone runs out...we run in. Support your firemen.
1. LSU (White, Brazil, Jefferson, Robinson)
2. OSU (Apple, Burrows, Conley, Bell, Thompson)
3. USC (Cravens, Mcquay, Hawkins)
In 3-4 years, likely one of Bama/LSU/UF. Don't even care about rankings, though White and VHIII will be monsters.
Bama/LSU/UF Always bring in good DB classes
OSU and USC brought in good DB classes too.
1. LSU (White,Robinson,Brazil)
2.OSU (Bell, Apple,Burrows)
4. Florida (VH3) Best DB out of the whole crop
5. Bama ( Smith and Cook )
6. USC (Hawkins,Cravens)
You have to add Eddie Jackson for Bama, if 247 would have done an update he would have been a top50 prospect
Somebody bump this ish in 2-3 years.
Its just amazing what a bama offer gets you these days
You left off LM3 for USC. Really like the DB class we put together. Think it's our best position group on D with Redfield, Luke, Butler, and the sleeper Kinslaw whose rating dropped a lot due to injuries. If Robinson makes the grades I'd go LSU, OSU, and USC..
Really hope you're still posting in 3 yrs. was Sabans top CB prospect. That's good enough for me.
Why not? Pretty good shot at helping your rankings accuracy basing them on the opinion of the best talent evaluator in the country. Jackson straight up took Vonn Bell's spot who is a 5*... didn't even send NLOI papers to him on signing day.
He got bumped after his film leaked and he still appeared to be a FSU lean, btw.
I know the kid is good.. its not like he was an unknown before december when he was a 3* though
My point was throw a kid a bama offer and the 247 staff starts drooling..
With that said he is not a top 50 player
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
I'd probably go OSU #1. As an LSU fan I'd love to say us but we missed badly at S with Cutrer not qualifying. White is a beast, Robinson has as much potential at CB as anyone but has to make the grades and Ricky Jefferson can play CB or S(where he is slotted for now). Can't slot Brazil at DB because most of us are pretty sure he plays either wr or rb but I don't expect outside fans to know that. Still a very good DB class for us but having missed on S is a glaring misstep and has to bring down the grade a little. We'll make up for that in the '14 class and unless something unforeseen happens we'll have the clear #1 DB class then.
Do love Jackson but don't think he's top 50. It will all come out in the wash in 4-5 years.
I'm sorry but if Bell told Saban he wanted in there was no way in hell he doesn't say ok...
You're incorrect. We passed on him for Jackson who is a pure corner. Bells a safety in a corners body. Tweener.
Won't believe it until I hear it from the coaching staffs mouth... You don't turn down a 5* because you got a CB... That's like turning away the #1 RB because you already have one committed..
Or simply our coaches don't believe he's a 5 star. Your mods can ask Bell, he didnt have NLOI papers from Bama. He's a good player we just went in another direction. Might come back to haunt us. Either way OSU landed a quality player in Bell.

Bama has some real courteous coaches with a lot of time on their hands in the dog days of recruiting. Jackson committed to Bama on 1/31 and they sent 3 different coaches to Ridgeland after that to meet with Bell. From reading this thread, we have now learned that they went all that way to tell him they were not interested anymore. Most staffs would just call, but not Bama.
According to an Espn report his dad is currently working in North Carolina and Kirby Smart went there to meet with the dad on 2/2. I'm certain Saban told him to utilize his last day available on the road to go there an meet the father of a kid they didnt want.
Also surprising to see that posters on your board believe that Saban is racist and that's why Ohio St and Urban will beat Alabama.
Oh and if you want to enlighten your board, feel free to tell them that Alabama already had black players on scholarship before that Sam Cunningham game. That whole story of Cunningham integrating Alabama is just that, a fabricated story.
Huh? Where did you see this?
Really its only one poster making that claim....maybe two. The rest of the posters are roasting him for such a dumb thread....
It's in one of the threads on your board.
And to the other poster, good to see. I can't see all the posts in that thread so only going off what non bucknuts subscribers can see.
Every fan base has those idiots... It's pretty obvious Saban isn't racist considering half his team, if not more is black...
Allow me to try to explain to everyone else how Saban works. And we can just agree to disagree on Bell.
Saban and staff visited multiple recruits that we had NO shot at. He also visited multple recruits that we all knew we wouldn't take if they wanted to commit. We had 4-5 spots left in the class but the staff probably visited 4-5 times that many kids. They're thorough and build on relationships for yrs to come.
On Bell, we barely, if at all called him in the final week. We didn't send him an LOI. We had 1 CB spot and we gave that to Jackson. Therefore, the staff had Jackson ahead of Bell in their CB evaluation.
Bells a stud though... So congrats. It's not like he's a runner up prize. Don't be offended that he wasn't our number 1 on the board.
no that means it was first come first serve
Jackson committed first
