lol you mean like tOSU did.. bad example.
We would've told Jackson to hold off until we heard from Vonn Bell if that we're the case. I know you can't fathom that we'd choose Jackson over Bell, but that's what happened. It was surprising to me too. Jackson didn't play his Soph or Junior yrs and didn't attend a bunch of camps where these kids are evaluated. That's where ratings are derived.
Like I said... We can agree to disagree. I look at Jackson a lot like Amari Cooper last yr. a lot of people seemed to think he was a stud WR when his initial ranking didn't reflect that. I've learned to trust that things turn out to be true. Both bell and Jackson will turn out to be great if the reach potential.
Bama fans are starting to act like scUM fans now.
I think Ohio St 2014 class has the potential to be even better. Damon Webb has already committrd imo he will move up the rankings.
Top targets with serious interest
Not when you already have 3 power backs for 1 position. Bell can play 1 of 3-4 positions, at the least.
Instead of DVing this, why not come up with a rebuttal?

Can scratch Tony Brown from that list. Peppers has mentioned academics as major factor and from looking at his top 4 Stanford, ND, UM, and OSU think it's safe to say OSU doesn't belong. Peppers recruitment is going to be crazy..
Saban doesn't give a shit about rankings. Bell's 5'10 180 and runs a 4.5 (too small to play safety for Bama) and there's no guarantee he could play corner; good player, but a tweener. Jackson's a legit 6'0+ 180 and runs in the low 4.4/high 4.3 range... pretty much ideal for a corner.
I was skeptical too at first when I heard we passed on him after UT apparently took the lead, but people close to him confirmed that our staff stopped contacting them before we took EJ; also, as mentioned, we didn't send him NLOI papers.
Bell mentioning beating Bama in his announcement, which was an odd thing to say about a school that wanted/pushed for you, kind of confirmed all of the information from our side for me.
Jackson runs a 4.5 at best
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
And Bell is 6'1..
I can't find any official track times, but if that's true, dude has some seriously deceptive "football speed" based on his film.
I'm OK with that. I like UM. In fact, I have a healthy respect for the B10. Except for OSU... No one respects OSU unless you went to OSU.
Haha, yeah... he's actually taller than listed under his profile. That would be a first.
He measured in officially on his OV to Bama at just over 5'10, fwiw. Believe what you want, but some Georgia/Tenn people that have seen him in person can probably chime in on this.
Congrats on VB, he should be a good player. Doesn't really matter if he had a spot or not, Urban liked him enough to send NLOI papers to him.

I love Jackson, and yes 40 times mean dick
Kid is fast on the field and that is what matters
Im just telling you he isn't that fast
True. When you win 3 of 4 titles in the toughest division in the toughest league, it makes sense. Especially when cns is db coach. After we got Jackson, bell went bye bye.
Maybe in 3 inch platform shoes
