Opinions on the best defensive line classes? I would have to put Auburn's in the top 5 at least.
I would think Bama's would be top 5 as well.
Allen #11 player in the nation (could count as a LB instead, but if he is already 260, then I think def. end is in his future).
Robinson #26 player in the nation
Paige #55 player in the nation
Liner #122 player in the nation (#46 by composite)
Throw in some recent Florida classes. That one class Urban Meyer got with Floyd, Easily, Powell, etc. was elite.
add #2 WDE-Tim Williams to Allen,Robinson,Paige,& Liner, plus Bower flipping to LSU
and the edge goes to Bama here.
Nope. AU = best DL class in a long time.
best at AU perhaps but 5 > 4
Bower proved to be the difference.

Quality > Quantity
Gerry is going to have best classes by position on defense soon. Personally, I'd take Auburn's DL class over anybody else's.
With Bama, Paige is a stud. Liner is a tweener who actually made a good decision going to a 3-4. We project Robinson as an OT long term and Allen, while a great player, is going to be a jack linebacker. So it's a great haul, but a lot of guys that may move around.

I have to agree with AU sadly. Lawson and Adams = good fvcking class period. They were really looking at something special on the defensive side of the ball this year. Imagine if they got Lawson, Adams, Foster, M. Alexander and Liner.
good class ? yes
while Allen will be listed at JLB, he'll be a DE in the nickle which is run more often than not. and although Robinson would make a solid OL prospect, he also projects as a beast among the D-trenchmen.
i simply prefer Allen and Robinson over Lawson and Adams.
time will tell
Jonathan Allen is a grown ass man. He's filled out his frame. Will definitely be a Jack/Sam.
In three years, it won't be close.
LSU has to mentioned
People were saying Daniel is JUCO all the way. Is that correct? If so that's the deciding factor.
"We're modern-day gladiators, and that mental toughness is really important to have in a good team." Nick Saban
That group wouldn't even make my top 30
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Tim Williams WDE?? Is that really the plan with him? Would have thought CAT LB for sure. Don't know if we ever have the weight to play DE in 3-4..
That's what I had been hearing. Auburn might be able to work some of their magic, who knows? I'd go with Auburn for best DL class.
Look at the rankings
I only care about my rankings, they are better
Quit trolling Nova. LSU's DL class is 7 deep and all but 1 is a 4*. It's not #1 but it's top 5 easy.
Herron-proved he's a beast
Bower-FSU wanted him but his grade is all future based
Patterson-Another that is all potential but has a ton of it. Kid played WR in hs
Neal-only a 3* because he has a very low ceiling. He outperformed most of the 5* and 4* kids all spring and summer at camps. Kid can flat out rush the passer
Gilmore-proved he's a beast
Lacouture-can play DE or DT and is a better athlete than he gets credit for
Bain-if the light comes on he can be as good as he wants
Potentially add in Beckwith who most of us project as a DE and it climbs the list. Very strong and deep DL class for LSU.
Williams is not & will not be a 34 base end.
while we list a base 34 Bama plays four man front-nickle/dime 60-70% of the time.
Adrian Hubbard plays SLB at Alabama last but in a base 43 he's a natural edge DE.
"is TrollVaNole really Reese Dismukes ?"(insert tapped keg here)
I moon all of you
Might be the worst joke I have ever seen on here
I agree Auburn has the Best D Line class.
But "(((YOU))) project" Robinson as an OT long term? The Bama coaches say otherwise.
Also do you watch The Jack Linebackers on Bamas Defense? How many times do they Drop back in coverage? Tell me how many times Last year you saw them do anything other than Act like a DL?
You are trying to validate your point with stuff that you shouldn't. JMO
I am not trying to start arguing with you cause your WAY smarter than me at pretty much everything i am just saying the point your trying to make is going nowhere. JMO
And yea i agree he Robinson will be on the OLINE eventually. I think he will play a Guard spot although i hope he is good enough to play Tackle
Again i like everything you do here and i understand you can't watch all of every teams football games they play and this is not in anyway trying to call you out.
You gotta give the edge to Miami.
