I don't know how anyone could say a Big Ten school with a straight face when it comes to football.
It depends on the way that you are judging schools. If you are judging by upcoming seasons, the only schools in contention are B1G schools. If it is recent history, I agree.
This is Michigan, fergodsakes.
Michigan is not there yet in basketball and football needs to prove 1 more year imo. I guess the same could be said about OSU football after going 6-7.
Now: Ohio State
I agree with you, but honestly, current is probably Michigan State.
Football team hasnt been to BCS bowl since 1988. Won there first bowl game in 10 years this past year and they barely beat Georgia in the outback bowl.
To be frank with you, Ohio State went 6-7 last year. MSU is coming off of back to back 11 win seasons. If Michigan can win 10 this year and go to an Elite Eight, they will be in the mix, but for now it's MSU.
Big Ten > SEC when you're talking about football/basketball combos.
Okay I already admitted that. But loom at the years before that. And it's almost a guarantee that we win 10 games this year. But I see where you are coming from, we need to prove ourselves
I'm judging this by upcoming season.
okay our basketball team will be top 5 material and an average Ohio State football team is better than Michigan States best football team
OSU loses Sullinger and Buford. MSU beat OSU last year and looks to have the best defense in the conference this year.
No and no. Right now I think MSU is better at both sports than OSU.
alright we have Aaron Craft, the best PG in the country. Deshaun Thomas will get around 20 a game. we have a lot of kids that were freshman last year that will get alot of time and a couple will make a big name of themselves for sure.. Michigan State beat us 10-7 and that was the worst team Ohio State has ever fielded
and you are obviously high
I think I agree with this. For now, MSU seems to be on top. UM and OSU certainly could unseat MSU in the near future, and many think that they will, but until that happens, MSU has to be considered the top in the B1G, and potentially the nation also (at least in the top 3).
When you talk historically, it's a whole different ballgame, and one that I don't much care to be involved in. There are too many moving pieces regarding whether recent history counts for more, and whether it's just NT's or other factors should be considered.
laconophilia is everywhere...
Everything you just stated is incorrect. OSU Basketball is top 5 material but they are relying on sophomores to make a name for themselves? And Craft is not the top PG in the country. That was also not the worst team that OSU has ever fielded.
You're obviously bias.
samething when we had sully, craft, and thomas as freshmen and we were the best team in the country until we choked in the tourney.. not really relying but they didnt get much PT and shots last year with our starting five. now our top scores sully and buford are gone so they will get more opportunity. Name a worst buckeye team then.
Yeah, and MSU doesn't have any incoming players, good point... no, wait...
MSU beat OSU 10-7 @OSU, and the game wasn't nearly as close as the score entails.
When did OSU get their 100th yard from scrimmage? The 4th quarter?
It was 10-0 until OSU got a garbage time TD with 10 seconds left in the 4th quarter.
And lol at Craft being the best PG in the country. He isn't even the best PG in his conference.
you can say that in Football because we had an off year but i dont see how you are getting that in basketball
That doesn't guarantee that they will be any good.
But did those highly touted sophomores get any experience last year?
No, they didn't. Because Matta is the most average coach that knows how to recruit, ever.

Okay but we went to New Orleans while you guys were at home. Good job being one of the 7 teams to beat us last year by 3 points. Like ive been saying it was our worst team ever.
Agree with this.
Burke > Craft.
