At least I dont think it was....it didnt taste like it.
Well, if it wasn't mayo, I shudder to think what it might have been.
Count me out, Brah
It's Gates in KC
Wise's is located 7 miles west of Newberry,S.C. on US 76 heading towards Clinton. It is a different type of mustard base Stouds than any I have ever eaten, it taste like a cross of real mustard and vinegar in their sauce, very tart but good. I like their pork without the sauce the best though, it may have the best flavor I have ever tasted in my life. Farm Boys in Chapin,S.C. ,as mentioned by another poster, is also very, very, good.
I grew up on mustard base and got turned on to vinegar(apple cider) based bbq in my late 20's, so for the last 30+ years I have been torn between the two.The Carolina's have this one won by a long shot imo.I have been to Kansas City, Texas, Memphis, and most any other land that may lay claim to great bbq, but nothing compares to that sweet, smoky, juicy piece of pork that the Carolina's know how to cook all too well.I try to get to about 4-5 competitions a year, not as a competitor, but just to taste their offerings. Next up will be the Festival of Discovery featuring BBQ & Blues in Greenwood, SC the weekend after July 4th.
Missouri. You get the statewide variation between KC and St. Louis styles.
All the above.
And anyone who says brisket isnt BBQ, is an idiot.
Reporting from NC here and since I live in NC then NC is the only correct answer
No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
Brisket is BBQ, but the WPS is better IMO. I enjoy making both, but if you had to take one away I'm saying take the brisket away. You can do a lot more with pork.
I live in SC and love the bbq around here and GA.
To me, nothing matches the atmosphere and care in bbq of Texas. GA is equal in quality of joints but Texas has quality and quantity
Rural texas is like typical GA with a good bbq joint in about every town but the Austin/Hill Country area is like the heaven of bbq
I havent been to KC yet but I imagine its like Austin was to a extent.
I agree with this. Though, I do love me brisket straight up, and on sammichs!
Moree's BBQ in Warsaw, SC. The best vinegar based BBQ in the state.
