You may be right. I think that we can all at least agree that AU got jobbed by not at least having a shot to play them.
This is coming from a Bama fan but with Ronnie Brown, Cadillac, Carlos Rodgers and Campbell; it would have been one hell of a game.
Agree with this. That USC team was the best of the 3 from '03 to '05. The defense on that team was very good. The offense was, well, special. No one was beating that USC team that night. It took them giving away the game and a Herculean effort from Vince Young to lose in '05.
Before the Longhorns come in and start bashing, I was rooting for Texas in the game but I watched it closely and have seen it a few times since, USC gave the game away with complete dumbass mistakes. If they had played just cool and collected, VY wouldn't have had his "moment". Texas would've been down by 2 touchdowns at least. No fault of Texas. They did what was needed and took advantage of the breaks.
2008 USC. By far the best team in the nation that season.
Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
Yes and Kerry Collins. Both were in the top 5 of the Heisman voting

Yep, we got screwed and then took it out on Colorado
Miami in 2000 (I think) that beat FSU and FSU still got in the title game.
Or Washington from that year who beat Miami.
The PAC-10 has been the brunt of most the bcs screw jobs.
Au was better that year imo. Carnell + R Brown were dominant.
in 94 psu dropped from #1 to #2 the week we beat osu 63-14
“If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.” ― Haruki Murakami
Adrian Peterson and Jason White weren't?
Thunder + Lightning > Cadillac + Brown
USC O Line > AUB O Line
Aub would have been able to put up more points than OU, but no chance in hell Aub could have slowed SC.
That would be a negative right there. AU 04 was a better team than USCw that year.
And Lofa Tatupu would have been calling out the plays they were getting ready to run as soon as they lined up, while giggling helplessy. Just like he did the year before and just like he did against Oklahoma
The ONLY team that could have beat that USC team was the 2001 Miami team and it us starting to look like this year's Alabama team, maybe.
I hate to agree but I agree.
Not because they beat us. We fvcked ourselves everyway possible leading up to the title game.
Um had no distractions and would have spanked OU.
Could have won 3 in a row.
That would suck: 7>3>2. Thank you Lord.
Everyone underestimates how loaded that 04 OU team was. What makes auburn better than that OU team?
SC 04 is considered one of the best teams ever fielded. AU 04? Great team, but not in the same league
It's just my personal opinion. I thought that they were the better team even before USC trounced them.
Seriously. Does anyone remember that many if not most of the pundits were predicting an easy win for OU?
It wasn't just a win by SC, it was a massacre on every level.
Sad thing is that none of us will ever know for sure. I think it would have been a hell of a game.
Opps sorry I must have overrated Bama, it happens when you come to this board.
I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life!
You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
For real I'd put U-Dub 91' on this list as possibles
Truth and agree. Just don't think Aub would have been able to put up enough points in the end. SC still scores 55 against Aub IMO
I wss really speaking of teams in the BCS era
Because the topic was teams that got left out of Title Games
If you go back to the 90's, I would take that Nebraska team with Tommie Frazier

Yeah I know. i just threw them in there because i don't think they get enough credit for how loaded they were
