We should really have at least 9 national championships not just 5 but that 2000 team should have been in the title game.
I'd say the 97 FSU team was up there too. But Miami 2000, AU 04, Utah 08, USC 03 are all pretty good teams. I think Miami '00 and USC '03 were probably the best though.
Walking up these hills you have no choice but to be fast!
I agree wid mi Yardie Bredren
That's what I'm thinking. We got a BCS win and #2 ranking rather than a BCS loss and rank around 4-5.
Are you counting losses to PSUin 86 and Nebin 94?
Not really, We got screwed 3 times in 80's and early 90's alone.
The 2000 Canes is the only correct answer
Just for fun here is what they had
Portis, Santana Moss, Wayne, Andre Johnson, Jeremy Shockey, Vince Wilfork, Al Blades, Ed Reed, Jon Vilma, DJ Williams, Najeh Davenport, Vernon Carey, Phil Buchanon, Mike Rumph, Bryant Mckinnie, Damion Lewis, And William Joeseph
I'll give UM much credit but when did you get screwed in 80's or 90's.
ND game in 88 when the refs screwed us.
In 1990 Miami was the best team, just ask Texas
I included the PSU game because Vinny Testaverde fixed that game.
That team was ridiculous...
Better total offensive and defensive stats maybe? If I'm not mistaken AU had the #1 defense in the nation if memory serves me correctly. (sigh) ...Wish I could say that again at some point... lol
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
That is a sick scary team.
Good Lord that is sick
I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life!
You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
04 Auburn and 2000 Miami
Mike Rumph lulz
First round pick
Beast in college
Don't be a jackass and think that not making pro bowls means you sucked in college
We are talking college teams right ?
They didn't get screwed by any means, but 02 USC was playing awesome football in November of that season and crushed an Iowa team that had dominated everyone in their paths for the past six weeks of the year. Their two losses happened by the first week of October and were to teams that were a combined 21-5 in 02. They were such a young team which is why they lost early, improved and crushed teams late in the year. I know I'm in the vast minority, but I would take the 02 USC team, led by senior Carson Palmer and a pair of senior running backs, over the 03 USC team, led by sophomore Matt Leinart and a sophomore and two freshman running backs, given how each team was playing at the end of the season.
I've never understood people that play that argument.
"Yeah you might have whooped our asses and all, but we had the best player on the field. We had a player that has been to pro bowls several years in a row."
Like anyone gives a fvck.
yeah, especially in a thread about college teams
Laughing at only 1 out of 17 players... lulz.
. i'm just a 49er fan. off topic lulz
Dan Morgan was a monster as well.
I only count the 88' season as a legitimate screw job.
1990 don't count.
They lost the opener to BYU (if you can't beat BYU then GTFO)
They also lost to the Domers that year.
