Originally thought of go with bob and his ring. But, looking at Richt statistically it's just a matter of time until he gets one. Bob stoops has made his career beating up mediocre competition. His biggest annual threat is coached by Mack Brown.
Disagree, Richt will always be that coach that couldnt get his team over the hump. Stoops won 1, and went to 2 other Title games. UGA has never even been to the Title game under Richt, and his competition in the SEC is only getting stronger. The proof is in the puddin
well, both are pretty much stuck.
stoops is still married to that antique offense, and never recruits a qb suited for it, and richt, well, he'll always be just behind
so stoops may get the edge, but he's really nothing to blow your load over
that title was won with players he didn't recruit
www.yohoodent.com ... errybawdee awn ignorle
stoops for sure....but he is now slowly becoming richt...needs another top 5 year to get back into the elite discussion where he used to be
Has Richt even won a conference championship? Stoops has a grip of those, not sure their is an argument here
Georgia has enough talent to win it all in a given year, but they will need a favorable schedule and ideally a down year for the SEC West. That might be 2014, especially if both AJ McCarron and Johnny Manziel leave for the NFL. LSU would still be tough, but Georgia is a very good football team.
Had they beaten bama in last year's SECCG, I am pretty confident that they would have beaten ND. So they have a team with the potential to win it all. Just my two cents.
The question was who is the better coach, not what conference was harder.
As long as there is a quality coach with talent in the SEC, Richt will not win the SEC. Richt's loyalty and predictability are his downfall. Watch the film, you can see these things. Any coach (worth his salt) can see Richt's flaws and exploit them. Richt can win, but not win big.
Stoops, even with the yellow brick road paved with cursors leading him to the title, his teams find a way to choke.
Both guys are quality coaches. Stoops has the easiest path, given Texas is the biggest competitor and is mediocre (at best) now.
And like I said, it's not even close. One has been to 3 Title games, 1 has been to ZERO. End of story
How is this a question? Stoops has a Ring>>>Richt does not
You never said in your first post it's "not even close". Then you went on to day the SEC is getting harder. What you are saying is CMR has a tougher road to the NC than Stoops.
Yes richt has won an sec title
Jeeze louis. Richt isnt better than Stoops, end of story. I mentioned the SEC is only gettin harder becuase it means Richt's chances of making the Title game are only getting smaller. If he was an elite coach that wouldnt be the case. Seeing how UGA dont have to play Bama or LSU in the regular season, and havent for quite some time. Richt has had many chances to prove himself, and he hasnt. Stoops> Richt, get over it
Let's define a coach... who has been a better mentor, has a better grad rate and has developed and sent more kids to the league?
Coaching isn't just wins and losses and if you think that, then the thread should have started with, "Who do you think is a better coach through wins only? Richt or Stoops?"
I think both are very liked by their staffs, players and admin for that matter. We've all lost sight of what coaching really is and it's now based solely on wins and losses and championships due to money which is a sad sad thing.
We got screwed in 2002. Should have been in the title game. He won the SEC twice.
He did the same thing his 2nd year that all the BCS title coaches did from the SEC
13-1 SEC Champs
Art Schlichter's cellmates and Mo Clarett's rugby team believe Ohio State always does things honestly.....
UGA should have many National Championships. They have all the resources you need and are the big school in a state LOADED with players just like Texas. No excuse for them to not have won a national title since 1980 imo.
Winning is what matters, not the other stuff. It's just how it is
And that's why you have the society you live in... Don't complain when shit goes wrong then.
Their state doesn't have 1/3 the players Texas has. Fact.
at all the simpletons itt
# of CHampionships = best coach
& who has the easiest road to the NC = best coach... lulz
Stoops >>>>>>>> Strong, Harbaugh, Muschamp, Spurrier (the 1 he won was a rematch), Peterson, Chip Kelly, Gary Patterson, Jimbo fisher, Al Golden, etc.
Lets see between the two who took an annual NC contender blue blood program and turned them to meh. And who has taken an annual meh/hope to be bowl eligible team and turned them to an annual contender?

Who said it did?
Except all those coaches won a Title shortly after.. He won the SEC yrs ago and hasn't sniffed the National Championship
You said they're in a state loaded with talent just like Texas. That's completely wrong.
I think you're nuts if you think Stoops is better than Harbaugh. He might be the greatest coach in the history of the sport.
