Which grill is better? Anyone have experience with either.
I'm in the market for a new grill. Have always had a Webber of some kind but want to try out the ceramic grills.
Mostly interested in if one of the two get hotter and holds heat better.
BGE >>>>>>> Primo
Any reason? Seems like BGE has a lot of "fan boys" that think it's the best simply because they were told that.
i'm on my 3rd BGE. 2 mediums (1 for my house, 1 for our hunting property) and was given a large for Christmas.
so i'm a fanboy - i've been more than pleased with everything i've cooked on it, so i've never thought twice in comparing the two.
not sure you're going to get too much pro vs. con on similar ceramic grils.
i sold the medium i had for the house on craigslist and only lost $150 bucks on it. i think the guy that bought it only bought it for the name recognition (like most all over consumer products)
I have the Vision Custom Kamado grill, love it.
Same dimensions as the Large BGE for 648 @ Costco and Home Depot (online order)
In the top ten, obviously BGE has a larger following, but that's to be expected.
"I Am The One Who Knocks.." - WW
That's got some cool features, especially the coal lighter. How well does that work? Does it get very hot and easily maintain heat?
Be an American and go Primo.
I would get the primo if you get the XL-oval, otherwise BGE.
No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
Lulz. That's like saying buying a Kia made in Georgia is American.
No it's not. It's more like saying buy a Cadillac. Primo isn't a shitty product
Never mind. It's like the airplane joke.
That's the one I'm looking at. Same with the BGE. I do a lot of cookouts at the house so I'm looking for the biggest option of each.
If that's the case, I like the oval XL primo. You can do off set smoking and cooking it. I think BGE has a lot more accessories though. I have the large BGE.
I have a BGE and I love it. Does everything I want and more. However, if you read the site below it shows why you would want the Primo oval over the BGE. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice.
BGE has been around alot longer and has a rabid fanbase. I don't think there is anything you can do on BGE that you can't do on a primo. Depending on where you live you might be able to get a BGE from an eggfest in your area that still has the warranty and is a good bit cheaper than a new one.
Yep. OP if you live by Atl you can get one cheaper, that's where the HQ is. They have Eggtober fest every year and you can buy a demo at a really good price. I have the large BGE, if I was buying one tomorrow this is what I'd do: if I was looking at the XL's I'd go Prime OVAL XL, if I was going with a large or smaller I'd go BGE, specifically because they have the most accessories.
BGE gives you street credit bro. Go with it
The firebox divider the primo has is the best feature of any of them that I've seen. You can do both direct and indirect cooking at the same time.
Right. That's the only reason I say go with the Oval XL if you're buying that big.
Just finished my table for my BGE, waiting on the granite top. Made it so the egg will sit down thru the top and the bottom will sit on the cut out of granite. Gonna have a block party when its done.
That's pretty badass. I just got a BGE nest
Don't know anything about the Primo, but we love our BGE. Awesome table, BurydaBone.
Thanks guys. Had a certain space on my deck to fill and everything I saw was either cheaply made or not the right size. Made it out of cypress and cleared it with Gemini finish and a Kremlin spray gun. The draw to the left has 100 pound slides, overkill but couldn't bring myself to cut corners. Can't hardly wait to use it. Just hope I can learn to cook on it.
I have been researching this for a while.
Bge has more accessories and more dealers
Primo is made in america whilw bge is made in mexico. Both are american companies.
Obviously one is black and one is green
In my town we have dealers of both. Do you? You dont wabt to ship one of these. Which is the better local dealer if someything goes wrong?
Persinally I am leaning towards the Bge because of the abundance of grill accessories. I would be very happy with either though if you want to buy both and give me the one you dont like as much
Large or below BGE, if going XL then the Primo XL Oval
