Greg Oden was waived by the TrailBlazers today. Where does he stand in terms of biggest bust ever? I put him at #1 for the decade.
Kwame Brown was pretty terrible
Can't forget Lebron, and maybe somebody Im forgetting
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Kwame get's my number 1 spot. Bowie #2 even though he wasn't the first overall pick. Then Oden might be 3rd. Hate putting a guy up there because of injury.
There were worse picks. Jay Williams says hello
Pretty much the whole 2002 NBA draft was filled with regret.
Can't forget about Darko (I still shake my head at the Pistons for passing on Bosh, Wade, Anthony... even Kaman).
At least Adam Morrison has two NBA championships
I would still take Greg Oden as he is now over any of the above. He was decent when he played, and I truly dislike Portland.
Darko has to be up there as well.
Jay Williams looked good his first year. It was his own stupidity that got him out of the league. I mean seriously. Your making Millions of dollars for your athletic ability and your going to drive a motorcycle drunk. What an idiot.
Agreed though. Oden's problem was injury, not abillity. Darko, Morrison etc were lack of ability.
Also throw Melvin Turpin up there (hate to put him up here because he was a friend of mine) but he was drafted #6 and ahead of Alvin Robertson, Otis Thorpe, and John Stockton. He was one spot behind Barkley and three spots behind Jordan.
Darko, solely because of the talent that was picked after him in that draft.
Lebron. Most hyped player in history... can't win anything.
Couldn't have said it better myself
I guess I should have clarified that I meant overrated draft picks. Darko is up there. Forgot about him and Morrison. But at least they are still playing. Hate to blame it on injury, but that was one of the worst picks in a long time.
Oden was still so good is what's crazy. If you look at his stats, if he played a regular starter's minutes of like 36 mpg he'd been averaging like 20, 12, 4. He was so good, just INJURY RIDDLED
Darko and Morrison are still playing???
I thought at least Morrison was??
Darko still averages like 7 and 5 a game. He manned up and earned some cash at the end.
Morrison still with the lakers i thought.
He is... in Europe...
Brown really didn't have any other options...I went to highschool with him....guys still in the league which is a plus but has to be the worst #1 overall...Jordans signature pick
Stay thirsty my friends......
Michael Olowokandi was worse as a #1 imo. Kwame did have a good season or two.
How can people forget about Andrew Bogut who was just recently traded.
Stupid post....Bogut has been a 10pt 10 rebound player his whole career. He has not been a perennial all star but he has been a very good player.
Agree. He's hurt a lot but he can typically average 12 and 9
He was drafted #1 overall, and has never made a all star game or an all NBA team so he is considered a bust.
Third team All NBA in 2010
Did not go number #1 but Marcus fizer was a total bust
Without self-knowledge there is no individuality
I remember being blown away when he couldn't even make the Bobcats after the expansion draft.
