I just broke 200 tonight for the first time ever with a game of 213 and another of 200.
In college I was obsessed and got up to 223. Now I don't bowl much and can't break 185
And nice job on the new milestone. Makes me want to bowl again.

I hear ya. Before tonight, I had never even broken 180, then went 171, 213, and 200. Has to be my new bowling ball doing all the work.
Haven't bowled since high school, but I had two 279's within 3 weeks (both games, fourth frame was my only non-strike and it was a solid 10 pin both times, I was furious). Used to average around 212. Gave it up in college though and have bowled like 3 times since.
I think I had something a little over 190 once.
I rarely bowl but got on one hell of a streak once. I remember getting over 190 and pretty close to 200 but didn't quite get it. Don't remember the exact number though. I mean we are talking about 12-13 years ago.
Should have gone pro... Hope your turned it down for scholarship to Oxford
I always start drinking and cant remember my score by the end of the first game anyway.
I know i can bowl strikes between my legs like 1/10 times.
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or it may last a year. But eventually, it will subside. If i quit, however it will last forever.
Not good by any means but my best score is like 170.
Congrats on the game though.

high score was 243 i got lucky
I bowled for a my high school in a doubles league, my partner and I both would average around 240. Wanna say my high score is 260/270.
I'm not a bowler, but my roommates and I went every Wed in college because they had 2 hours of all you could bowl and free pizza for $10. They also had a $3.50 special on Molson pitchers. So we would bowl, throw down a couple of pitchers and then go to the bar that was attached to the place and drink some more.
Anyways, my best was 211 and I averaged around a 170. Right now, I am more like a 140 bowler.
220 for me. We used to go some on Thursday nights in the spring since there weren't many swaps. There was one place in Ttown that was in a sketchy area & I swear they laced that beer with something.

If you averaged 240 you should have bowled a few perfect games by now.
My average is 210 and I've bowled one perfect game. I came really close a second time but choked in tenth frame.
You average 240 but your high score is only 260/270?
two 7 pins away from a 300 w/ a 289 (1st & final frame of the 10th).

I was good when I was younger. Averaged around a 205. High game is 279.
Have won a lot of money at bowling fundraisers though. 9 pin no tap is the ish.
So the highest current average on the tour is 236 and you had two guys average 240 on the same team in high school? Yeah, that didn't happen. Also the 260/70 thing but 240 average is a dead giveaway.
Scholarship to PSU. I was seriously considering going pro until a guy conned me and ended up sticking my hand inside the ball return. Lost my right hand and it hasn't been the same since.
But in all seriousness, I was top 30 in PA in high school, but knew early enough that bowling was a dead end. Had a few friends try out for the US Open, but everyone eventually realized that bowling for a living wasn't gonna work out. Now that I live in the city, not much chance to bowl.
This... there is no way possible that you averaged 240 and your high game was 270... You could have at least said 279 (which is a very common score - 270 is not). My high average for a league was 215. My high game is 289 (for all the bowlers out there, I bombed the ball in the 11th frame and left a solid 7 - I am a righty). Threw 18 strickes in a row in the same set but never shot 300.
Well seeing at how that was 8 years ago, I don't remember what my exact high score is.. sorry that I upset you so badly.
I do know that we averaged around 240 though, because I remember our handicap was nada.
I don't believe this guy for one second but I have to point out that averaging 220 in league play is not that uncommon. However, the same bowlers would be lucky to average 190 on the pro tour. The lane conditions are much tougher PLUS the pins are 4 oz. heavier (which makes a big difference). Bowl on a sport shot if you want to get a taste of how difficult the shot is on the tour. It will humble you for sure.
Just as a side note: The highest ABC league average ever recorded was 261. That guy didn't make it on the tour.

Yikes. At least mine were both solid 10 pins. A 7 is just...bleh
yep... knew the bowlers would appreciate how much that one hurt.

Right I understand. Bowled a sport shot for the high school championship. A 240 average on a house shot is possible, but it doesn't happen to two guys on the same high school team whose high scores are 260 or 270. Also, what kind of bowler is that good and doesn't remember his high score?
