So then when it was Yost in 1909, Crisler in the 40s, or Bo in more recent years, it was Michigan that obviously chickened out?

Scored 4 touchdowns...in a single game. Polk High!
You don't think he said it to get a rise out of the boosters? If he was serious, then it was clearly amateur hour. I might have more respect for Meyer after that comment then. Hoke really isn't classy, nor do I think he's Michigan's long term answer, nor do I care. He's just a bag of hot air. The shit talking gets done on the field, and our last meeting didn't end well for him. I'd be butthurt to.
I'm not familiar with the history, but if we canceled the rivalry like you guys just did, I guess so.
Couldn't possibly be because Purdue is located in the same state, thus constituting an in state rivalry could it?
Mich names buildings after people who chicken out and refuse to play ND.
No. That would be like you wanting an annual rivalry with Cincinnati.
Oh I forgot Michigan is such a powerhouse...
That and the fact that they could only play 2 of the 3 and the earliest they could get out of one was Mich. Why was it the earliest? Because that was how Mich wanted the contract when it was renewed.
Well one time was caused by ND playing ineligible players and refusing to bench them...
Yost not only refused to play ND and blackballed us from the Big Ten but he also attempted to threaten other Big Ten teams that they might get booted for playing us....all bc he hated Catholics. I say it all the time but without the bigotry that was UM athletics for about 30-40 years ND would be nothing more than Marquette...so thanks
After the shit Urban pulled at Florida, if you still have more respect for him than Hoke, I can't help you. You seem to be the one flipping your shit that Hoke called out your school, so it doesn't sound like you don't care.
Lol? ND has one good year and now you think you can compete with the big boys.
We're both years away from being legit NC contenders, so I'm really not sure what you're talking about.
Yep and ND played MSU when Mich was blocking them from joining the B10.
We've at least been good enough to kick you guys around most of the time.

Personally I don't have a problem with what Hoke said. It is kinda amateurish but he is simply catering to his audience. I simply think it is funny that three times in history the series has been cancelled and each time by Mich. Someone should ask Hoke if he thinks Yost, Bo, etc were chickens.
He doesn't care. He cares so little that he's going to post in this thread over and over.. all the while not caring. Sounds like Sparty.
Hoke isn't even s football coach. He's a glorified cheerleader. This type of petty banter is right up his alley. It's where he belongs. Trust me 3 years from now the majority of your fan base will be calling for his head.
Nope, they were accused of having ineligible players on their roster so Yost refused to play them.
A year later, Yost canceled a game between the two schools shortly before it was to be played, claiming that Notre Dame had ineligible players on its roster. He then blackballed the Irish, keeping them off the Wolverines' schedule throughout his tenure as head coach and athletic director. He retired in 1941.
Bingo. It would have really helped Hoke's cause if he knew our history first without embarrassing himself.
You're talking about something you know nothing about. You're making this assumption based on what? From when you see him on TV?
You have no idea what Hoke does and doesn't do.
So he did the same exact thing you did when you started crying over a football series you know nothing about?
I don't know why they just don't dump Hoke and cut to the chase and name Mattison the HC. Hoke might be out of his element. Be honest, when you first heard that some guy named Brady Hoke is going to be the new football coach at Michigan how mad were you?
What are you even talking about? I said I wasn't familiar with the history of the rivalry, so I couldn't answer if Bo and Yost really chickened out, but I'm familiar with it right now, and how this scenario went down, so I can say that it's pretty obvious ND is the one that chickened out this time.
Your post makes no sense.
