Uggla is killing it right now. If he can stay hot we'll be just fine. I also expect Heyward to have a really good season and hopefully McCann can stay healthy. If all these things fall into place our hitting will be just fine. I'm also glad to have Diaz back.
i am as well , good fit in terms of personality and skills ; need our pitching to come along alot better than it has so far this spring
Braves losing again today to the Cards 4-2 late , they just cant buy any runs these days ,,... bad news
Deja vu on the hitting. As far as Heyward having a good year, I haven't seen any signs of it. Dude is striking out in nearly 1/3 of his ABs. One thing to be carrying a .217 average if you are trying to spread the ball around the field or play situational ball because it is Spring Training. Not sure of a situation that taking a U-turn comes into play unless he is practicing not hitting into double plays.
really stunned that the kid played this well over his entire career only to have it hit this kind of a roadblock ; surely they can work with him to correct the hole in his swing as they say that most of baseball is mental
Give it up Shoeless, buddy when you don't spend money you aren't going to win. That's the only thing the Braves are missing, someone who will spend to win.
There is a reason why the Braves got swept at the end of the season by the Phillies, in consecutive series, and by the Cards. Only way to force a change is not buy the tickets or watch the games. Force the owners to sell the franchise or increase spending.
i know your right its just tough to accept , still enjoy going to games and just enjoying a day at the park with all the perks ...hard to beat
lost 4-3 to the Cards , 5-12 on the season so far although McCann hit his first HR of the pre-season
I know brother, and I love being at the park but can't support running a franchise in the ground. That's exactly what the owners and GM are doing. They turned the best NL Franchise into a little better than average team. Can't win being cheap and all the owners want to do is keep the franchise just good enough to fill their pocketbooks, not compete for a WS.
really sad stuff but have to agree with you on this one
Season opener is here! Taking a half day today to watch and have a long weekend ahead of me.
Should be an interesting year. We should see what some of the young pitchers can do. Who won the 5th starter spot?
Also i think this is the year we find out if Freeman is to Heyward what Francour was to McCann. I hope its not the same but ether way i think Freeman can be very good starter for a long time. If Heyward can fix the holes in his swing he has a chance to be great, if not he's the next Francour.
They plan for Delgado to be the 5 until Hudson is back. The way Freeman ended the spring has me very optimistic he will have a good sophmore year and then he should be ok from there. I saw a lot of people talking about how much better Heyward has looked this spring, but I didn't see it. Hopefully he gets on a roll and rides it out but I will believe it when I see it. I haven't given up on him like I had Francouer. I remember going on the MB at about the beginning of that 3rd year of Francouer and someone giving us the he is a 5 tool player, gold glove caliber outfielder, great hitter speech. Dude has a plus arm (although that could lead to on target or the press box) and good power when he connects, other than that he was so screwed up 90% of the time that its ridiculous. I do see he had a better year last year though, could have used those in the ATL those last few years.
Less than 1 hour.

Working from home to watch the game
Prado with the first hit of the year.
Santana doesn't look the same at all.
Work the count you dumb schmucks
thinking the same thing. Guy hasnt pitched in over a year and we're giving him easy innings. get his pitch count up and get him out of the game.
And Heyward with an early K
Santana looks slower than I remember.
But these quick outs are dumb. At least Heyward made him throw a couple before striking out
