My current laptop is on its last leg. So I'm looking into a new one.
I use it mostly for web growing, excel, word, and other Microsoft Office products. I don't have a serious need for doing things like editing photos and video - might occasionally for personal stuff but not a huge priority.
I am interested in a convertible laptop so I don't have to carry a laptop and tablet with me.
Been looking at Lenovo a lot. I've never used one. If anyone has I'd appreciate feedback on their quality and build. Also open to suggestions. TIA
FREE Shipping available! The ThinkPad Twist 12.5 convertible is an Ultrabook™, a tablet, a notebook, and more. Twist transforms into a laptop when you need to type or a tablet when you're on the go.
We use Lenovo computers at work, I have never seen computers have such hard drive issues as they do.
No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
That sucks to hear.
No matter what I get, I do want a Solid State hard drive. They are more reliable and faster since they have no moving parts.
What is web growing?
HP has a good product but if you want to pay the bucks MAC's are tough to beat
You a cop?
My lenevo is fine IMO. I only buy cheap laptops though. If I were buying one now I would look to the google one and see if it fits needs. Cheap and laptops go out so quick you won't be pissed if it went out early.
have to agree with ya , would go down to Best Buy and see what the "best " deal they have on laptops and go with the one that you like
I know Lenevo builds great high end laptops. I don't know anything about their ultrabooks though. I have had 3 laptops which have all been HP's and have worked great for me.
I will tell you that you don't need an i7 for what you want to do with it. Are you looking at the i5 with the SSD?
just go get the macbook pro and be done with it. you're welcome
have to agree , the best and it aint close in my opinion
Mac or return here in 2 years with the same post
I have Microsoft office for my Mac and it gives me no problems
I saw a month ago that Best Buy had a HP laptop with a decent screen for $299...seemed cheap to me
Asus makes a pretty cool hybrid laptop/tablet that runs windows 8 when connected to the keyboard but then andriod when you detach the screen. Sounds like that might be a good fit for you.
I would recommend going to newegg.com for your best pricing.
Dont listen to the MAC fanboys... they are the same guys who still think iphone is the best smartphone around hands down. nothing wrong with it... just different strokes for different folks.
I've had a Lenovo T-series ThinkPad for 3 years and I love it. The thing is a tank (built in drop-cage, spill resistant keyboard, etc). Got a really souped up version with a 3-year spill and drop and hardware warranty for about $1400. They are great machines.
that sounds like a great deal
Ha, no, just didn't know if there was something out there I didn't know about.
Dont listen to the PC fanboys... they are the same guys who still think droid is the best smartphone around hands down. nothing wrong with it... just different strokes for different folks.
I love my iphone. But it will take a lot for me to buy a Mac. Mostly because I can get better specs in a PC for half the price of a base Mac. But I play games on it and stuff. Software on a Mac and their life span will beat most PCs.
Idk if there are any Macs that have the laptop/tablet that you are looking for though.
I agree. For what I do, I can do it all on my iPad. Microsoft Office was free to download on it as which was awesome. Adobe as well. I have a little keyboard for it when I'm doing a lot of typing. My fiancée uses it for vet school as does a lot of the class. It seems with the way these tablets are developing laptops are becoming less and less popular.
Lenovo is terrible. They took over IBM's ThinkPad and made it into a piece of crap.
Just get this. Converts into a clean tablet. Decent price, solid performance (you don't need to go over the top considering what you do). About 3.5 lbs.

Everyone who said mac has the correct answer. I will always have a mac.
