24 of 60 voters have WVU higher and many of them by a considerable enough spread that WVU is ranked higher than a team that beat them 49-14.

because 1 game doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things.
This. In a perfect world the "better team" would win every time. But if some 9-0 team were to get upset by a 2-7 team, do you REALLY think that means the 2-7 team is better?
Example: OSU gave up 490 yards and barely beat Indiana 49-52, yet we are ranked 7th in the AP poll
One game doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but I don't understand in what way wvu should be higher.
If they beat the said 9-0 team as bad as Texas Tech beat WVU then I would have to say yes.
If it was a 3 point game I would agree with you. Texas Tech beat the fvck out of WVU.

Its not like tech is a 4 loss team. They are a 1 loss team. Same as WV and spanked them pretty bad head to head.
This is especially true if the 1 game was played at home like it was for Texas Tech. Does anybody believe Texas Tech would have beaten West Virginia if the game was played in Morgantown? I do not
I don't consider a home field advantage to typically be 35 points.
I don't think any West Virginia fan would agree with that idiotic statement. Auburn fans hate to see Tubby have success without them.
Cecil Hurt seems to have the right thinking IMO.
