For some reason, we used to do chinese food on thanksgiving for a few years.... I enjoyed it but there were a lot of complaints from others.
Going to smoke a prime rib
My dad wanted to do a prime rib. My mom vetoed it, however.
Buy. I hate it, but my family has been doing it for as long as I remember. Presents in the morning. Movie in the afternoon. Chinese food for dinner. Mom's side is Jewish, Dad's is Catholic, my family is a weird mixture of celebrating the holidays we like. Christmaka is a great one
That sounds fun. Do you celebrate Hanukkah as well?
Sometimes. I'm at school right now and one of my sisters is another state, but when everyone is home we usually light the menorah and have a gift or two.
Basically like the turkey. Stick a long knife thru it from each end if need be to create the hole. Them slide it down on ur turkey holder and cook. Get the temperature up to like 350. The inside temp of the roast should b measured at the thickest point. 125 rare 130 or so medium rare 140 medium. This is for 6 to 8 ribs. Roughly 3 minutes per pound. Get it like four days early and leave it uncovered in fridge so it can age some. Dry rub any kind u want then put it n the fridge. Hope that's helps. Also peanut oil of course.
Bump. Any menu changes?
We made the turkey last weekend (lol), so I think we're going with a ham for Monday.
Nope, got the prime rib in my fridge...going to smoke it Christmas Eve. Can't wait.
My dad thinking about a prime rib for Christmas Eve dinner. He and my mom just had their entire house remodeled and has an amazing new kitchen, so he's very excited to try it.
Had this last year. Will do something similar this year.
