Soo this guy was 6-0 and basically unhittable.. He had this shiny stuff on his arms the first 6 games.. They figure it out and today he didn't have any shiny stuff on his arm.. Goes 6 innings and gives up 4 earned runs againnst the Twins.
Yeah, that's extremely suspicious.
What do you guys think? Was he "cheating"?
Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.
What would it have been?
Whoever told on him is effin with my fantasy baseball team...

Jack Morris called him out on it, and I've never heard of Morris accusing anyone of cheating before. I doubt he'd risk his reputation if he wasn't pretty damn sure - and as a former MLB pitcher, I think he knows what to look for.
More likely it was something slick.
Too bad Mortis doesn't still play. He would have drilled three sawks in a row, then ran in the dugout and pummeled CB. That dude was nails
I wouldn't think so... You would want something were you could grip to ball better... Put more bite on the breaking pitches... you wouldn't want it to fly out of your hand prematurely... Guy's have been caught with pine tar before IE Joel Peralta for the Rays just last year...
In a season already filled with rare pitching feats, Tampa Bay Rays reliever Joel Peralta may have managed the least likely trick of them all: He was ejected from a game without throwing a single pitch. With the Rays protecting a 5-4 lead in a game against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night, Peralta was called in from the bullpen for the eighth inning.
Schilling basically just implied it was Bullfrog sunscreen and rosin on Cowherd.
Yeah, anyone that doesn't think Bucholtz is cheating needs to get their head reexamined.
I just know a lot of guys have used a slick substance in the past. Or at least I thought so. That is what I thought the spit ball was all about.
wow.....tough thread. Can't believe I got nothing on the Major League reference. Eddie Harris would be ashamed.
I knew what you meant. I have seen that movie 20 times.
2nd one is better IMO
Get out and never come back. I will never forgive you for what you just said.
3rd one is best.
Pshh didn't say the first one was bad but I like the second one better
True The spitball or mud ball etc gave some extra weight to the ball and allowed the ball to slip off the fingers to give it an abnormal spin and give extra weight one side of the ball.. could have been either or IMO... It definitely was something though.. the dude's arm was a completely different color from last night and his last few starts...
Did MLB say something. Why would he just stop all of the sudden.
The announcers calling his last start said something about it during the broadcast then strangely enough his arm color changed his next start... they say the guy powders his arm up with the rosin bag... but his arm was really shiny and bronze / tan looking... so it definitely wasn't rosin
Be interesting to see if he returns to last years hideous form without it
He got touched up pretty good last night... I mean the guy was 6-0 w/ 1.01 ERA until last night
