Looking like it might pass in Washington too. Down 48-52 in Oregon.
The Rocky Mountain High just got a whole lot higher. On Tuesday night, Amendment 64 -- the measure which sought the legalization of marijuana for recreational use by adults -- was passed by Colorado voters, making Colorado the first state to end marijuana prohibition in the United States.

It'll be interesting to see how the federal government acts... 'cause technically all usage of marijuana is a federal offense but they've been letting the medicinal business slide... This is on a bit of a different level.
I say let the people smoke.
I say someone explain to me how alcohol is legal, yet marijuana isn't. Doesn't make a bit of sense, and I don't even partake in the devil's lettuce.
I agree, I was just pointing out that TECHNICALLY all usage of marijuana is a federal offense, which trumps state law. The federal government has just chosen to overlook the medical use of it. I'm curious to see how they'll handle recreational.
haha America is beyond stupid, yes legalize tree why stop there legalize cocaine, hopefully young kids will be addicts by age 7. what a fvcking joke
God you're dumb.
looks like I'll be moving to Colorado or Washington once the winter passes.
Marijuana isn't addictive. It is a lot less dangerous than alcohol. What are your thoughts on alcohol?
I thought Colorado had already made it legalized, because the last time I was there back in 2001 I heard it was legal.
Plane tickets to Denver just skyrocketed. I'm moving there
and let's waste all that money fighting drugs which is going nowhere!!! great plan!!!!
Wow, is this the first domino?
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
tree is definitively addictive guess you have no experience with it
Psychological Addiction != Physical Addiction
Plenty of experience with it. It is NOT addictive.
A study done in 2010 dictated at 9% of marijuana users will become dependent on marijuana. That means, in their head they need it. An addiction means your body itself needs it. Quitting cigarettes and dip was difficult for me when I did it. When I quit smoking the green(which I did very regularly), there was absolutely no part of my body that needed it and I had no trouble. I have never met a single person that was addicted to marijuana.
Good for Colorado.
What sanctions? Our 75 are better than your 85.
I say lets legalize cocaine as well. Its naturally obtainable, doesn't affect a soul other than myself when I use it. And the people want it(some do at least)
Meth is too far IMO, cocaine is cool though
University of Alabama: The high mark of college football since 1892
You're a smart guy, I know that from talking about other topics with you, but don't fall into that trap. It's illogical and unnecessary.
good for colorado and washington. I think more states will follow after they see how these 2 states handle it.
I think the city of New Orleans would do the same. it would be great for the local economy. it would also keep dumb white kids from getting robbed in the hood trying to buy a dime bag.
Too bad their football team stinks.
I just don't last like it. The point im trying to make is where does legalization of substances stop?
