Probably overthought himself. I only watched a little more than a quarter of the BCSCG.
ND was usually ahead (of the games I saw) and didn't have to do too much. Just not make any mistakes to give up the games late.
I just think they were in over their heads against Bama.
So true, and its pretty much human nature for it isn't just rookie coaches in sports
It happens to rookies in almost everything, players... the workforce, almost anywhere you look
People that are young or inexperienced or both... often outthink themselves, or over think things
Gordon Ramsay is always bitching about it on his cooking shows lol

fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Ours were far worse. We can't run against Clemson, but successful passing. They lose their best cb and we quit passing and go back to the ineffective run.
Down two scores with 3 minutes to go, we get the ball at our 15. We run the ball 3 times and punt.
Time nearly expired we run a trick play to the WR. He passes across the field to a wide open Clemson defender for a TD.
That game was weird as hell, VT should have won imo
Me and my friend were talking about it for weeks afterwards
One of the weirdest games I can ever remember, you could look at that games box score and not learn a damn thing about what that game looked like on the field
Occain was later questioned about not using Marcus Davis on certain plays. He admitted he didn't know which WRs were on the field at any given time. Hard to exploit a weakness in the defensive secondary if you have no clue if your WR is the 5'11" freshman or 6'4" senior with the 44 inch vertical leap.
Box scores don't mean everything.
If you just look at Florida's offensive box scores, you'd assume they were Wake Forest.
That VT/Clemson game was a strange one though.
Agreed, but sometimes they tell you something
But in this game you wouldn't have learned nothing was my point
lolz, that is just ridiculous
Things like that tell me I could easily be a coach at a high level, sure there is many things I would need to learn
But if I dedicated myself I could easily be less stupid than that
Still, the trick play near the end of the game with the WR throwing a pass may be the most retarded call I've ever seen
one of our many topics of discussion for the weeks after that game
Bout time you got some new coaches on that side of the ball
I agree, but is Auburn's OC from last season the answer?
Of course, I think Chizik was such a problem for that team that you might not really be able to guage any of the coaches there. Hell, Roof was a great coach for Penn St last season and he was the guy most Auburn fans were blaming their pathetic defense on.
Some updated times.
Terron Armstead - 4.71
Lane Jonson - 4.72
Kyle Long - 4.94
Vinston Painter & Alvin Bailey - 4.95
Chris Gragg - 4.50
Matt Furstenburg - 4.62
Jake Stoneburner - 4.65
Tyler Eifert - 4.68
Zach Ertz - 4.76
Can't hurt. New OL and WR coach as well. We definitely excited about the change.
Just a fat TE
I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
I'll be pulling for them to gel around week #2.
Got to be a little tough for Bama to game plan for. We got no idea what to expect from The offense.
Preach brahs, preach.
Damn Warmack looked slow today. Good thing 40 times don't matter much for lineman
i've seen countless guys pull on the WeeWee shorts & get eye-popping results at the combine.
some guy last year threw up about 40 reps on the bench & now totes kegs for Bud.
