Your argument is that poor people don't give a ****, and therefore give each other HIV out of sheer laziness at higher rates in states with abstinence only sex ed, and this has NOTHING to do with education.
That clearly makes more sense than sex ed.
All states with large minority populations. I am telling you they just flat out don't give a damn. They know better. But for some reason the poor minority population just doesn't care about the consequences.
There it is. Because black people don't care and are too lazy, so they just run around giving each other AIDS.
Well, at least you're an honest bigot.
I am telling you they live their whole lives in the moment and in the present and just don't consider the consequences. You ever been around poor people? They don't think about tomorrow until tomorrow. But I assure you they all know what safe sex is. Everybody knows what condoms and birth control are...EVERYBODY!!!
It's not because they are lazy per se' but because the culture in which they live doesn't teach responsibility. They live their lives for the moment.
It's significant that it's mostly minorities because most of them tend to be poor. To be fair those same states also have the most poor whites. I should have just said poor people, but since we were talking about minorities earlier I went with that.
If we're strictly discussing teen pregnancies I agree. But come on, sex education or a lack there of does not lead to an unwanted pregnancy. Being poor =/= stupidity.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you don't know a lot of folks on welfare.
Let me guess, the whole "they don't get that much money" blah blah blah "nobody is getting rich off it" etc. Well maybe not, but they very often don't spend the money on what they should be spending it on. And it is very common that any extra money they get for kids they spend just a little bit of it on the kids and the rest on whatever other crap, sometimes all of it on crap.
It doesn't even make sense for most teen pregnancies, safe sex is just common knowledge. The Left just wants to believe that a few classes will make all the difference...well they won't. There is a much deeper cultural problem there than the left cares to admit.
Wow. Are you f***ing kidding me? You clearly have never been around actual poor people.
Poor people are no different than anyone else - there's not some overarching "poor person attitude" that all poor people share. Plenty of poor people think about the future - they worry where their next meal is coming from, they worry how they'll pay their rent, they worry about what the future holds for their children and themselves.
To say that poor people live completely in the present is idiotic. Living paycheck-to-paycheck doesn't mean that people don't think about the future.
Well they don't, if they did they wouldn't be poor. Thinking about your next meal stuff is complete BS too, very few are actually starving.
Worrying about the future just isn't the same thing as planning for it.
Once again, you're simply wrong.
In 2011, 50.1 million Americans lived in food insecure households, 33.5 million adults and 16.7 million children.
In 2011, households with children reported food insecurity at a significantly higher rate than those without children, 20.6 percent compared to 12.2 percent.
In 2011, 5.7 percent of households (6.8 million households) experienced very low food security.
I realize the 'hating poor people' line is generally liberal rhetoric, much like 'killing babies' is republican jargon, but this guy is giving it legitimacy.
Not surprisingly you completely missed the boat with that guess. Your general tone in regards to those less fortunate is rather flippant. That's not "common" behavior for poor folk. Poor people have the same goals and aspirations we all do. They may not necessarily know the best way to accomplish their goals, but good God my man that's a pretty small minded take on what is a far reaching and complicated issue.
They spend a lot of time and energy looking for immediate satisfaction. Many have just given up that there lives will ever improve so they spend most of their time meeting their most base needs and desires. Things like sex, which we all enjoy, may be the highlight of their month. It may be the only enjoyable thing in their life. They really have nothing else to look forward to...so they don't.
You are so, so far beyond ignorant it's astounding. I almost wish I could experience your comfortable little bubble where people are only poor by choice, practically nobody's starving, and everybody you characterize as in a certain group shares all the same points of view.
I really can't come up with much else to say besides your views are simply despicable and you're an embarrassment to your party and country.
Have you ever, in your life, either lived below the poverty level or known multiple people who do?
Seriously, your overgeneralization is disgusting. "Many have just given up that there lives will ever improve so they spend most of their time meeting their most base needs and desires." Are you kidding? Being poor doesn't turn you into some lesser form of human being.
Hey dumb @ss this is a sports forum!! Take your political garabge elsewhere!!!!! Sigh man these kids are stupid!!
It is factual. Sorry but they create most of their own problems and their kids grow up seeing the stupid s*** their parents do and they do the same things.
I live in an area with tons of poor people, black and white, went to school where the school was half poor at least.
I have seen it over and over. It's one stupid decision after another after another. Granted they weren't raised in an environment where the right thing was ever really expected from them, but they do a lot of stupid stuff nonetheless.
I think I've spent enough time on this topic. But sufficed to say you have no idea what you're talking about. I recommend some volunteer time at a soup kitchen or maybe an excursion or two into a ghetto or trailer-park to get a glimpse of how the other half lives. I guarantee if you allow it to be, it'll be an eye opening experience. I appreciate the back and forth.
You have yet to dispute a single claim. I have experienced all this myself. If they were as smart as you think they are...they wouldn't be poor.
Yeah seriously. I spent a year in high school volunteering at an elementary school in the Milwaukee Public Schools (46% HS graduation rate). Eye opening stuff.
Your claims are simply ridiculous and not supported by any evidence.
That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.
Fine. Poor people are highly intelligent and never make dumb decisions. They all have very carefully mapped out their lives and make the most rational decisions in most situations. They are only poor because Republicans made them that way.
