I have not seen too many Professors who teach from the right (especially in those subjects where a right left dynamic exists.)
How long since you left school?
Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
No? Who was it?
He is credited with saying that (though not in the exact words the poster used)
You sound like the white guy claiming he's not racist because he has a black friend.
"Raised by black people, work and play with black people, live in a black area, went to a black high school and go to a black private college with professors who teach from the hood."
Shouldn't that make me a black person?
That's why I said "something like that"
You should spend some time here.
Heck, we just had a councilman a couple of months ago say that Obama should bail out the city because they put him in office.
"Show me a young Conservative and I'll show you someone with no heart. Show me an old Liberal and I'll show you someone with no brains."
Often attributed to Winston Churchill (). The phrase originated with Francois Guisot (1787-1874): "Not to be a republican at twenty is proof of want of heart; to be one at thirty is proof of want of head." It was revived by French Premier Georges Clemenceau (1841-1929): "Not to be a socialist at twenty is proof of want of heart; to be one at thirty is proof of want of head."
Show me a young Conservative and I'll show you someone with no heart. Show me an old Liberal and I'll show you someone with no brains.
- Winston Churchill
You got it right
Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy.
- Winston Churchill
A liberal is a man with both feet planted firmly in the air.
- Winston Churchill
Nice work on the references.

If you want to be mayor of Detroit, here are the 4 steps you take.
1) be black.
2) have a record of some sort.
3) Demonstrate how you are going to keep the white suburbs away from the city.
4) Make the uneducated and old in the city believe the opponent is actually being supported by the white suburbs.

Enjoy those years my friend. Great time in life. Plenty of time to argue politics and refine views when your old.
It's like that? screw that
As a Detroit resident, it always cracks me up when conservatives say Detroit is failing because of liberalism. That would be true if the city was going bankrupt because it offered universal healthcare at no expense. But that's not the case. Detroit's government can't even provide basic services without corruption and waste. Everything from the water department to sanitation is a mess. It's not a matter of politics, it's a matter of competence.
You realize that a white guy was leading the polls for months, right? Probably still is, notwithstanding his court battle about staying on the ballot.
My logic is that, for those whose majority experience comes from academia are much more likely to be liberal, than those who have more real world experiences. Now of course this basic premise gets convoluted by idiots on both sides of the aisle and oft turns to some kind of anti-intellectualism argument. I am in no way, shape or form an anti-intellectual, just that the reality of the world is that there are many things that work in the theory, and look good an paper, but fall apart in the real world.
Which Political party ran that City and allowed for guidance and corruption again? When is the last time Detroit had ANY fiscal conservatives intervene the complete waste and Liberal sloppiness? This was rhetorical because everyone with half a brain knows what happened there.
Your correct most cities are full of Dems and most cities are poor and most cities use mostly welfare. Repubs are usually suburbs and country dwellers.
Your response assumes that the Democrats who ran Detroit enacted liberal policies and that such policies were the reason for the decline. In reality, it wasn't that Detroit had different (and more liberal) policies. It was that they had normal municipal policies but executed them horribly. A city like Boston is similarly liberal and long governed by Democrats, so how would you explain the difference in outcomes?
Much higher percentage of minorities in Detroit.
