I said that, but despite their 3* high school ranking they produced a top 10 defense nationally...the 4* guys aren't going to be too much more productive than that. You're also assuming that the current/future defenses will be better simply because of high school recruiting rankings which we all know is illogical. Clearly those guys all have the potential to be very good, but I wouldn't put it in stone.
Last year was urbans first year @ ohio state. You do realize we have more offense now in year 2. Hoke could have a 4 year advantage in system implication and meyer would still beat him.
The guys Hoke is bringing in now are bigger and more athletic. Not hard to think they are going to be more productive.
So when Hoke beats Meyer next year, what are you going to say?
I realize bama crushed your ass bad in texas. but i didn't mistake brady hoke for nick saban or for what alabama has going. Let this sink in. Carr was a better coach than hoke will be
Let's compare that statement with this one. You could buy a lottery ticket tomorrow and win the lottery. About the same odds.
You're simply too arrogant to hold a conversation with. It's impressive.
It would take a lot for Hoke to match up with Carr record wise, but I have no doubt he will have a better record versus OSU and in bowls.
I mean as an overall unit...you don't get much more productive than a top 10 defense. To that end, OSU is bringing in significantly better talent on the offensive side of the ball and is bringing in the best talent in the conference on defense. Games are going to be very interesting in the rivalry going forward, but I wouldn't count on totally shutting down Urbans offense if I were an opposing team.
JFC. I see you enjoy slurping up all the BS the Bucknuts staff feeds you guys.
But hey, if you have to continuously tell yourself publicly on a message board that OSU is better than Michigan to believe it, that's your prerogative.
Would you rather BOB with no sanctions? Honest answer
Is that the guy with a felony that Hoke played all year because of poor DE depth?
You guys are bringing in more talent at WR on offense, but that's about it.
The defensive talent is pretty even too.
I haven't witnessed anything on the field to think otherwise
Honest answer? The only reason I'd take him over Hoke is he is younger. Otherwise, not a chance because Hoke isn't just a good coach, he has hired a great staff to complement him.
Mattison is definitely a proven coach. that is not debatable, hoke is
If you really want to believe Mattison does all the coaching on defense, that's fine, but it just simply isn't true.
It would be silly to not try and recruit a kid the caliber of Lattimore who is uncommitted and a few stone throws away.
Our quarterback does front flips, suck it.
You will this fall.
Based off of what info? Blind faith
I would say WR is better, OL is and will be significantly better, RB is the same and TE is better although with limited sample size...Baugh looks like a future star and Tressel struggled with TE as he never used them other than a 6th OL. I think OSU has recruited a little better on defense the last few years, but not a huge gap. That gap can certainly close if you guys land Hand and McDowell to go along with what you currently have.
The fact that Hoke has never lost at home and how Michigan almost beat OSU last year, even though it was one of the least talented Michigan teams in a loooong time. The talent was technically there last year, but they were too young. This year they should be significant contributors now that they've had a year in the weight room and learning schemes.
But we will not progress in the 2nd year under meyer? I gotcha
OL is and will be significantly better? Nope, nope, and nope. Just go and look at the last 3 OL classes Michigan has brought in. TE is in Michigan's favor. One TE doesn't outweigh 3 composite 4* TE recruits.
Did I say that? No. The difference is this year 3 under Hoke and year 2 under Meyer. This is will be the first year Hoke will be running a fully pro-style offense and there is no reason the think the defense won't be as productive or more productive than last year.
