And just read that Bill Hader and Fred Armisen are leaving the show.
The fact that Kenan Thompson is still on the show is crazy.
It's gonna be a bunch of unfunny people. It was bad this year and its getting worse. I'm wondering how long this will last. They need a big name who is already established to come in and earn some credibility back.
Three W's In My Life: Ward, Weinke, and Winston
I think it would be awesome if Will Ferrell, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon, and the rest would come back for just 1 year. Make it funny again, get it some credibility, and bring in some new people to learn from them in that time frame.
Supposedly they brainstorm/walk-through 40 different skit ideas each week, before settling on like, what, 8 for the show? After watching SNL lately, and especially last night, I can't even imagine how bad those 32 denied skit ideas must have been.
Oh, and I forgot to mention in my previous post that Jason Sudeikis is leaving as well.
Show is going to be total shit, if all three of them leave. Not like it isn't already crap.
Its been a few years since I stopped following. Been getting prgressively worse since the Kattan, Ferrell, Sans, Morgan years... and completely tanked when Fallon/Fey bolted.
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
This happens every 4-5 years. They'll get some funny people you've never heard of and be fine.
Bobby Moynihan is pretty good.
To the guy who brought up Keenan Thompson: are you surprised he's still on the show because he's not funny or because you think he would have moved on to different things by now?
I do agree Bobby is the funniest man left on the show. And am surprised Keenan is on the show because he is not funny at all. Jay Pharoh isn't that good either.
The last few seasons before this one were as good as it's been in years IMO, but the departure of Wiig, Samberg, Abby Elliott, etc after last season absolutely killed it.
Armisen & Hader leaving means I won't even watch. I struggled mightily through this season with them still there.
Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself it's not as hard as it seems - Led Zeppelin
There's some pretty good female cast members left - I think Vanessa Brayer and Cecily ??? are pretty talented. Naseem Pedrad is just there to give them a hot little body. But w the departure of Hader and Sudeikis that leaves a pretty big gap IYAM w the male talent. Agree Pharaoh is average, Taran Killam is meh. Moynihan is good, but nothing lost w Armisen's departure.
Pedrad, Eillott & Bayer were a solid trio.
I'd like to remove Bayer & insert myself into that trio behind closed doors.
Elliott is really sexy IMO.
What I've heard about Keenan is he's a pro. Always prepared, never fvcks up, always nails it. He makes others better because of it. That has value. And hes not really a comedian he's an actor. Super serious dude in real life apparently.
Point of the show if to feature new young talent. Been doing it for 25+ years. Never bring old talent back. They'll find some new guys and have their moments. But very few good episodes this year.
I Ain't got no Worries - Lebron James
Surprised Hader and Sudeikis didn't leave years ago, honestly.
Yea once you get to be a star or have a big role in a few movies you should get out and do that.
They need Kel Mitchell IMO
I thought he died.
Nah, he's still in some TV shows in small roles. Him and Keenan got in a huge fight though and Kel won't work with him or something.
Keenan beat him out for the spot on SNL, but last I heard they get along great still
EDIT: dang you were right

Yeah I remember being bummed because I always wanted them to do something together again
They did the roll call last night out of the countless people they introduced, I had only heard of Seth Meyers and Keenan Thomson and both those guys are just meh. SNL needed to close up shop 10 years ago.
