I hate not having the NFL network. Also Brighthouse Sucks. I had Direct for 12 years, til I got divorced.
I had dish for 12 years until 3 months ago. Now I have direct and wish I would've made the change long ago.

They are both great. After having both for years, I prefer Dish Network because of superior technology. Much better DVR system.
Since MLBtv is 10x better than Extra Innings, the only question is... do you want to pay for Sunday Ticket? If yes, Get Direct. If no, get Dish. I only got Direct for extra Innings, but now that I have discovered MLBtv ill be switching back to Dish when my contract ends in February. Can't wait.

100% agree. I am an Android, PS3 and Dish guy. Some other person is a iPhone, XBOX and Direct guy. Nothing wrong with either.
Direct is 2nd best, IMO. I would have Direct before any cable company. I just prefer Dish because of the better equipment. If someone wants Sunday Ticket then Direct is for them. If on a rare occasion the Steelers game isn't on national TV ill just watch it online, so no need to waste money on ST.

Direct=way better. More Channels, more bang for your buck, and customer service is not even a debatable issue.

Disagree 100% on direct customer service, I ordered an eqpt. upgrade after being loyal for 11 years and after 3 missed appointments and no mention of making me happy (meaning free channels or decreased bill for a limited time ect..) I switched to Dish, less than a week later i was good to go and pretty happy with them so far, nearly 2 years now.
Breaking bad is in its 5th and final season.
More channels? No.
Customer service? Had better with Dish. Actually, I had better customer service with Time Warner, and that's sad.
More bang for your buck? I get more bang for my buck with Dish, and get better tech.

I went with Dish. Because I had direct, for so long, I wanted to try dish for now. If I don't like it, I will go to direct in 2 years.

No, they're splitting it into two seperate 8 episode seasons. It might be like Soprano's and be called Season 5 part2 or something, but it won't be finished this summer.
And i can't believe you and Goldrusher had bad experiences with Direct coustomer service. They must hate WVU fans. I call up there all the time and ask for discounts and i usually get 3 months free of this, 6 months free of that, 5-10 dollars off my bill for 12 months.
I have the package with all the channels, minus the movie channels, and i pay about $60 a month. Once one of the discounts runs out, I call up and ask for another one and get it.
And Direct definitely has more channels.

I have had both and prefer Direct TV heavily over Dish. I need AMC and the customer service is way better with Direct TV from my experience.
100% DirecTV. The new receivers work fine and I want the best content, which is DirecTV, no contest.
People that are more concerned about the receivers, than the actual channels/content, aren't people I would take advice from on this particular subject.
When is the last time you had Dish? I have had both for years and definitely prefer Dish. What are all these channels you are talking about? I know Dish doesn't have AMC, but that isn't a big loss at all. AMC sucks for the most part.

I just checked. Dish offers over 100 more channels than Direct when comparing both premium packages. Oh, and Dish is cheaper. Dish also has Extra innings now. Throw in the mich better DVR with dish as well. The only thing Direct offers that Dish doesn't is Sunday Ticket. So like I said in my first post ITT, if you want to okay for Sunday Ticket, get Direct. If not, get Dish. Its really that simple.
I've never had Dish. I have had Direct for 12 years. I could not so without Sunday ticket or AMC... BUT, I agree that the Direct equipment is not great. I have never had a problem with customer service (I spend a ton of money with them...5 TV's, 3 with DVR, Sunday ticket, premiums, everything)...so they better kiss my ass. But the Direct DVR is crap compared to Dish. My next door neighboro has Dish and I was shocked by how much better his equipment was.
But, unless Dish can get the Sunday Ticket and put AMC back in the rotation, I'm sticking.

Parents have/still have Dish. I don't hate it or anything, but for me "Content is King".
Sunday Ticket and AMC are two VERY popular items. No AMC or Sunday Ticket is a big loss for people (5 people in this thread alone). You saying it "isn't a big loss at all" is just your view, not the feelings of millions of others.
Again, you Dish does NOT get all the channels. You should really stop saying that. It isn't accurate.
My customer service experience has been great. I get discounts anytime I try and my service has never failed me. Maybe I am just lucky.
My DVR's work just fine. I would love it if they were the best, but they haven't ever failed me. They can get a little laggy though.
Well I started this thread, and I don't really watch AMC, or get the sunday ticket. Also the customer service for Directv Sucked for me. They wanted to charge me for everything plus never gave me any discounts. When I went and canceled last year, they didn't even try to stop me. I was there since 99. And I was on autopay, so I was never late.

Yea, I can't wait to switch back. They can't even hook my stuff up properly. I've had 3 workers out to my house and none of them fixed my problems. I constantly have to reset my receivers because they lose signal to the HD DVR. I have the whole home DVR thing. They pretty much told me tough luck. Told then I couldn't wait to switch back to Dish. I know a buddy that just switched to Dish and they paid his contract fee to Direct because he switched before his contract was up. I might give them a call to see if they will do that for me. Really don't want to wait until February.
