Well of course the NFL has no say in the Heisman...my point is how often is the Heisman winner truly the best player in college?? The past couple of years I think they got it right, but in years past is hasn't been the case. Just because a player might have the most eye-popping stats does not make him the best player.
oh his sacks went up 62%? I guess that means he actually got a sack hahaha Oh his tackles for loss went up 64%? I guess that means he may have totalled like 2 tackles for loss? Give me a break. Don't even talk about the interceptions. A blind man could catch a pass thrown at his chest or tipped right to his face.
He's a very good player and will be up there in the draft, but I'd be somewhat surprised if he went in the top 5. Possible, but I think unlikely, partially due to the position he plays. I think Aaron Curry was the last 4-3 LB taken in the top 5 and he didn't exactly pan out as expected.
Yes MLB's aren't nearly as valuable as pass rushing whores like Von Miller and Jarvis Jones.
Heck kueckly didn't even go top 5 and he was a tackling machine.
14 games from Ndamukong Suh's senior season.
11 games from this season for Jarvis Jones.
Well if you want to go by stats then Jordan Lynch from Northern Illinois should win it....his beats the living $hit out of Johnny foosball's stats.
if anyone seriously thinks that Te'o deserves the Heisman, go look at some game tapes on SC DE Jadeveon Clowney. As a sophomore had a school record breaking 13 sacks in a season, 50 total tackles (great for a defensive end), 21.5 tackles for a loss, 2 pass defends and 2 forced fumbles. all of this occurred in 11 games, so he could have easily led the nation in boht sacks and TFL. Hes a player that could have the fastest first step off the line in America. Every team he faced had to assign double teams to him the nearly the entire game, the one team that thought they could block him one on one ended up giving up the most sacks by any team to ever play in their stadium, and it just so happened to be the gamecocks heated rival Clemson.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Clowney should win it this year, but there is no way that Te'o is the best defender in the nation. Ask anyone in America who they would take first and i guarantee outside of South Bend, 90 % would pick clowney
Teo isn't the best defender in the nation so I have a problem with him being a Heisman candidate.
Haters....all of you. ND is 12-0 and he is the best player on the team. 7 int's as a LB is unreal. Keep hating if it makes you feel better.
Homers...all of you. Teo got lucky with like 4 of his INT's. He isn't the best player on ND. Not even the defense haha. Keep being blind if you don't like seeing the truth.
Once again... all of the interceptions were literally thrown right to him or tipped to him. It's not like he broke on routes. If you are a middle linebacker trying to win the Heisman you better have 150 tackles and a lot of sacks and tackles for losses and forced fumbles. Period. Te'o doesn't have the same affect on games as Johnny Manziel. Period. A second team All - SEC linebacker had 138 tackles this year and 13 TFL. Along with 6 rushing TDs. Nobody is pushing for him to win any awards. Stop pushing for Te'o to win the Heisman. It's just annoying.
But ESPN thinks he should be there and that's what counts. After all they are the world wide leader in sports. Plus they have the Experts.
Wrong! If the balls were thrown right to him or tipped to him then that must mean he was in the right place and doing his job.
Oh you mean that same ESPN network who made this Johnny Joke who he is?
That would be the one. Oh and also failed to mention Lou Holtz works there. In case you don't know who that is. He's the one that slobers....
More and more of johnnie footballs's arrest coming to light. Apparently his friend said some racist stuff and then johnnie got involved in the fight. Why? I'd like an answer.
I don't think you guys realize how big his criminal background has become.
I'd like an answer as to why Notre dame police turned their heads when a girl claimed a Notre dame football player raped her.
because touching a tit under a shirt is not rape..... you realize that was the allegation of rape right???
Oh and Local and State Police dismissed the allegations - are they covering up for ND?
It is a sad story of this young girl who had a documented history of depression and suicide attempts before going to college. If you want to use a story that you have zero knowledge of or using a bloggers opinionated article to flame ND- than you are just a dickwad who needs to get a life.
I get the venom though - You are mad that "your guy" is not getting "Te'o attention" and I get it - Texas A&M has a 60% all-time winning percentage, The last claimed National Title was in 1939- when the AP had you at No.1, you do have 1 Heisman. All your 2013 hopes and prayers reside in Manziel winning the Hiesman. If he does "great for he and Texas A&M" - but grow up dude!
I know you're beginning to realize teo isn't winning but bringing up arrest records isn't going to help you.
You're lucky teo is even there because if he played on any other team he wouldn't be.
Not hating, just being real.
Best freshman qb ever huh? Freshman....that's right he is isn't he. Sometimes the fact that he is 20 years old makes me forget that.
Why don't you get your facts straight. The young lady who ended her life filed charges of sexual assault, which if what you say is true, "touching a tit under a shirt" is a clear case of. I'm not going to go into the sheer evil it takes for a person to bully and intimidate another human being, so severely, that it leads to suicide.
The case of rape, is a separate accusation, against another Notre Dame football player.
As for "Oh and Local and State Police dismissed the allegations"...is that stupidity or just a bold face lie? The case was under the jurisdiction of the NOTRE DAME CAMPUS POLICE. They are the only ones who "investigated" the allegations. I say "investigated" this way with " " as it does not take a rocket scientist to know that you don't wait 15 days after the alleged crime happens to interview the suspect. But you do if you want to cover up facts. Hell they didn't speak to the suspect in the sexual assault case until 5 days after the girl had killed herself. And the guy in the rape case admitted that he threw the girl's panties away in the trash long before the cops got there. That's some Barney Fife skills there. Any attempt at an investigation thereafter would be fruitless. Evidence gone, stories made straight, lawyers involved...nothing could ever come from an investigation when there are parties involved seeking to hide any hint of wrong doing.
Oh and as for your assertion that the girl, who committed suicide, had "attempted suicide before going to college", that's another lie too. You accuse others of using "zero knowledge", and here you are lying your ass off.
This is why nobody likes you Notre Dame fucks...if anything threatens your "holier than thou" image, you attack it like a bunch of rabid dogs, even if it means protecting the face of evil. You all should be ashamed, and should be demanding an proper investigation and punishment for those IF convicted. But you don't care, your campus police doesn't care, your school president, whose a priest, doesn't care...just so long as your image and your football team are protected.

More than anyone, Te'o fits Heisman ideal
Scored 4 touchdowns...in a single game. Polk High!
According to the article there is no "rape case". It claims the supposed second victim "never filed a criminal complaint".
Yep, that is probably why he won all of those other award and why he is projected as the top 1 or 2 linebackers taken in the draft. It is all because he attended ND. I just cannot figure out why every recruit in the nation would not want to attend ND since they would get accolades and highty drafted based only on picking ND. j The most highly awarded player ever in one season and all because he went to ND. The first defensive player since 1980 to win the Maxwell Award and all because he went to ND.
