I should probably just say New York vs. South.
I like a lot of southern rap but it's not really close. New York takes on the entire South and wins.
Mobb Deep vs. Outkast...
Anyone other than me taking Mobb Deep on this?
I'll throw up some other match ups later.
Mobb Deep no doubt. Prodigy and Havoc would wreck them.

These albums came out around the same time, from similarly stupid rappers.
Cam'ron Purple Haze vs. Young Jeezy TM:101
I've always hated that NY rap shit. Beats are horrible and the rappers just talk. No rhythm. Nothing.
Talib Kweli, Freeway and all of Jay-Z's bitches, Nas (yes, I know he's big but I hate him) all suck in my book. Fat Joe, Cam'Ron, Ja Rule... lol
50 cent is good... old stuff. ASAP Rocky, Big Pun.

Mobb Deep ain't wrecking Kast, UGK or Ball & JG. Cut it out.
I listen to a new NY artists. Hell, I listen to anything if it's good. Jay and Nas are all time greats. Papoose & Big L are good. A$AP is straight. Slaughterhouse is ok. Busta and LL been doing it for a min. Lot of talent up there. But they lose when compared to the rest of the country.
50 only had one great album. His first one. Everything else is trash.
I had his video game. Worst $40 my parents ever spent on me. lol
They aint wreckin Outkast bra. Love them both. But Andre & Big Boi are the most creative & sickest duo maybe ever.
2chainz is the best rapper alive.
Anyone that disagrees is white.
I agree completely. No duo or group period is wrecking Outkast. That's ridiculous. Look at their recording history and you'll see all the boundaries they crashed through. That's just musically with help from Organized Noize of course. Lyrically and pure skill wise, there has never been a better duo. Both members are above and beyond most solo rappers. Mobb Deep being discussed in the same breath of Outkast is blasphemy.
I am a New York/East Coast guy however. Not a fan of all this southern, club music that floods the market these days. It has completely dumbed down the industry and why true heads don't even bother giving mainstream hip hop a listen. Doesn't mean there aren't some good artists mixed in because there are but they get drown out because of all the trash and usually lumped in with it. New York/East Coast rap is just more gritty, more about the craft and more about the struggle of life than this bubblegum crap these days. The problem is that most of the top East Coast guys are getting older and fading now. The new crop has some impressive talent but they choose to dumb down in order to sell.
Jay-Z is the most overrated rapper of all time. He had a couple good songs back in the day but they were far outnumbered by the rest of the crap on his albums. He mostly just talks. Every album he ever had was 1 good song that would get played on the radio and the rest just sucked.
I mean, you don't have to like the man...
But, don't make stuff up.
It's called real rapp moron now go back and listen to your country and western rapp were they don't say shit....
Don't the New York guys just remix old Police songs?
Nas, Jadakiss, and Cassidy are the only northern rappers I respect, and unfortunately the ones that don't sell out are the ones not making any money. I despise Jay-z(as a rapper not a business man) and I can't stand 50 cent. Andre 3000 is right there at the top of rapping and I think we're forgetting how big the entirety of the 'hot boyz' were at the time, let alone the stupid amount of success lil Wayne has had.
Mobb Deep all GD day homie ... the Infamous is one of my top 5 albums of all time. That issh was too raw
Lol they the only ones ... ??? damn homie ... & IMO Jadakiss sucks. Big L, Kukoo da Baga Bonez, fearless four, grandmaster caz, marley marl, MC SHAN, MC Lyte, Camp Lo, BDP, wu tang clan, Beastie Boys ... thats hip-hop at its finest. Chicago/MW rap is garbage compared to East Coast/Dirty South ..
Cam'ron, Juelz & that garbage can suck a D
Wu tang and mobb deep are all time greats, just wasn't thinking of them. But take the groups apart and there is very little individual success, take apart the hot boyz and you have what was the greatest rapper on earth for a 3yr period and had Juvenile sell a shit ton of records too, and my favorite of all of them was BG. take apart 36 mafia, 8ball and MJG, UGK and you still have good individual rappers.
