BS, you guys should have told him to man up to his obligations.
according to joe schad nd didnt release him and thats why he is going to have 4 to play 3
Does ND catch the same backlash as FSU then ?
What good would it do? Could possibly end up being a determent to the team. You can't miss what you never had. Kids heart wasn't in it as far as ND is concerned. Best of luck to him in his future endeavors.
he does not need to try.
3 time POTW, member since 2006, MLWTI: 4-3
Thing is by not releasing him doesn't mean he shows up to ND either. I think that somehow gets lost in all of this...
Releasing him allows him to play right away, by not releasing him makes him sit unless he goes to ND
no they dont
Florida state is the only FSU
Fresno state is Fresno state
FSU Ambassador to the masses
Dont fall for the trolling
I think you missed the sarcasm.
so kelly basically did what jimbo refused to do with matt thomas?
Incoming Notre Dame freshman defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes will enroll at UCLA instead, he said in a statement Tuesday.
ND didnt release him
no. he isnt released and loses a year of eligibility off the top
agree...kids need to stop being pussies and stick to their commitment...they have years to figure it out...if youre not ready, dont sign
of course if he had an extreme case it would be different (not sure if he does or not)
“Eddie Vanderdoes will not be attending the University of Notre Dame. We did not release him from his national letter of intent in order to protect the integrity of that very important program, but we have worked with the Vanderdoes family so that Eddie can continue his education this fall at a school closer to his home. We understand Eddie’s interest in remaining closer to his family and wish him well.”- Brian Kelly
3 time POTW
As confirmed, Kelly didn't release EV, and it appears Jimbo has zero intention of releasing Thomas.
The only difference between EV and MT6, is that Eddie made his decision, pulled the trigger quickly, and accepted sitting for a year - done.
Another subtle difference, is that EV's family all got on the same page rather quickly, so it'll be interesting to watch MT6 on deck...
Fresno State brah
It will definitely be interesting to see what happens with MT's family. From what I have gathered Mom loves Jimbo and FSU and dad doesn't care where MT goes as long as he is happy. I know that USC "insiders" are saying that Mom is on board with everything but it seems funny that all hell broke loose after she was out of the country
My ND counterparts aren't really explaining the situation very clearly. This move is similar to a player "transfer", he will start attending classes at UCLA this fall and be able to practice with the team but is not eligible to play this coming season in games. It won't be treated as a redshirt, he will lose 1 year of eligibility.
Certainly a strange circumstance all around.
He's a Florida kid, so it really makes sense that FSU was a favorite all along, especially after his homie was bounced by Miami.
The whole 'out of the country' scenario is another baffling facet - had she actually visited USC with Matthew, the entire family would have had a concrete understanding of why MT was considering USC in the first place.
Not a good situation for all involved - let's just hope it gets worked out appropriately, so everyone can get back to work.
He wouldn't damage the team. He would fall in line or lose eligibility.
EDIT: BK didn't release him. Good for him.
