Rivals, how does this board compare to the MB? I recognized a few handles from there. I just made the switch because my homesite was lacking in recruiting info, etc. Also, what is the "green board"?
First thing I noticed was that this place is a lot more sloooow than the MB. Is it usually this slow? Is there things like FYLYL? Any other similarities/dif between the two? TIA
Green Board = Basketball Board.
I was never on Rivals, so I'll leave the rest to someone else.
Also, slow isnt necessarily a bad thing. Quality>Quantity. Do posters flame each other a lot? Is there a beef w/ UA and UGA fans like on the MB? Are there a lot of trolls?

I was on Rivals for 4 years and I have no idea what this means.
There is a little flaming and trolling but we try to keep it to a minimum.
"Fridays you laugh you lose"? It's been going on for awhile over there. It's a weekly thread.
Good to hear about the flaming/trolling though.
How strict are the mods on here?
I had completely forgot about You Laugh You Lose. I got to where I never went in them on Rivals because it was the same gifs and pics I had already seen.
The mods here are Tusks, kitemac, MarineMountie, OldOaken, and myself.
As long as you watch your language and don't flame you will have no problems at all.
FYI the LNC is an uncensored thread that starts at 9 every evening if you are interested.
Minus Tiger trolling all the time on both his accounts and aumajorpain complaining about something this board is Great...
Rivals is more of a place for traffic.
247 is slower (for now) but blows rivals away in content.
The articles are better and the employees are more informed.
Rivals is more of a place to chat with e-buddies.
This place will pick up slowly but surely but the content is why most of us are here.
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or it may last a year. But eventually, it will subside. If i quit, however it will last forever.
Flaming: For the most part, pretty minimal. Easy to spot when it's coming, but for the most part the people keep it to a minimum. Every not and again, someone gets pissy and terrorize the board for about ten minutes before getting a nice, little timeout. Haha.
Language: I've always got the impression MB was pretty open. Aside from the Late Night Crew, an open thread for our posters who are up when everyone else isn't, we try to keep it decent around here. If you get out of hand, don't be surprised to see one of your posts edited by a Mod. But if you ever have issue with 'em, PM them. They're good about explaining it all out.
Traffic: I'm content with what we've got for the most part. The only reason I want more traffic is for the sake of 247's business. That's the only reason.
Tigers act is getting old. We are about to crack down on that. He said he was not going to troll when he came over here but that didn't last long.
I was there for 7 years, never heard FYLYL (abbreviated like that)
247 blows Rivals away
To me, it's actually really funny to watch Warchant try and keep up with the Noles247 guys. Josh, Corey, and Tom absolutely kill it, and you can bank that every time they break a story the Warchant guys bust out the same story 8-11 mins later and try to act like they didn't rip it.
I don't know if it's like that on the other team sites, but the FSU one is comically killing warchant on a consistent basis.
We also have the best FSU posters like BushidoNole and co.
Gatorbait is really good too.
We just need more posters. Not a lot of guys have made the switch for some reason.
For civil, troll free conversation this is the place to be. I keep Rivals around so I can call UGA and Tennessee fans cocksuckers every now and again. I find it very therapeutic.
Oh, I forgot...last thing I'll post.
Rivals uses these BS ploys like having "mystery recruits" and "Signing day switch" secret things. They use scare tactics and stuff to increase site traffic to the point to where it got insulting to me.
Here the guys are straight forward and to the point. "here's what I know, here's what I think will happen and this is why"
No bullshht gets pushed on you here, that's big for me.
They also verify info before releasing so you wont see these bogus stories released.
That's the biggest thing for me. Professionalism.
Auburn's site here picked up a whole boat load last month or two. Still a little slower than the bunker though.
Amazed it hasn't been brought up yet: You'll be interacting with 247's writers, analysts, and even their Chief Operating Officer. The interaction between staff and posters on this network is absolutely amazing. In the last 48 hours, Nebraska's site has heard from an Iowa writer, a Texas writer, and a Georgia writer -- all on our home page. That alone trumps Rivals to me.
From a technology and development standpoint, 247 blows rivals out of the water. Rivals is getting left in the dust in that department. Especially after you get used to the features over here, rivals seems unusable. You'll be glad you switched.
For the most part....Yes
